Sleep paralysis

A temporary inability to move or speak while falling asleep. Individuals remain aware during these episodes, which involve troubling hallucinations and a sensation of suffocation.

Desperate to find drawing references for their story, Ren and Shun break into an abandoned hospital. At first, things go smoothly until they inhale lingering chemicals that cause them to start seeing things that aren't there.

Though they experience separate hallucinations, at some point in their journey, those illusions collide, merging into one chaotic nightmare.
