In the frozen mountains of the north, a dying boy is found by something that looks human but feels anything but.

Calling himself Reikuro, the strange wanderer shows no warmth, no fear, and no understanding of the world he walks through. Yet when he senses the boy’s desperate will to live, curiosity compels him to intervene.

As the storm closes in and unseen pursuers draw near, the two are forced into an uneasy alliance
