Synopsis

The Other Self is the story of a young boy.
Takahashi Ren thought he understood himself.
Until the day someone called him by a different name.

Now, gaps in his memory begin to widen. His body moves before he decides to. A quiet voice in his mind observes everything—calm, precise, detached.

As armed forces drag him toward a sealed research facility he doesn’t remember, fragments of a forgotten past surface in flashes of cold corridors and locked doors.
The closer Ren gets to the truth, the clearer one thing becomes:

Whatever was created inside that facility…

Note from author

We all like to believe we understand ourselves.
That our thoughts are ours.
That our choices are ours.
That the voice in our head is just… us.
The Other Self was born from a simple question:
What if the mind creates something not to break—but to survive?
This story isn’t just about secrets, facilities, or hidden pasts.
It’s about identity. About the parts of us we don’t fully see. And about the quiet strength that forms when we’re pushed beyond our limits.
If, at any point while reading, you start questioning who is really in control—
Then Ren’s story has done its job.
Thank you for stepping into his world.
