○○○○○ saw his life take a sudden turn when a certain god decided it was time for a change of genre.
Now forced to play the role of Shujin, the oblivious protagonist of a perfectly scripted romantic comedy, he’s given a deadline to trigger a successful confession event. If he plays his role, he might earn a chance to return to his old life.
There’s just one problem.
He knows the tropes.
Armed with genre-savvy cynicism, Shujin refuses to stumble blindly through meet-cutes and happy accidents. Instead, he weaponizes clichés, speedruns character flags, and attempts to outplay the god of Rom-Coms himself.
But it turns out the girls are playing roles too!?
Each heroine is chasing her own ending, a god is pulling invisible strings, and spring will end in 81 days. If this is a game of love, then Shujin has no intention of playing by the rules.
This is my entry for the 2026 MAL x Honeyfeed writing contest. A hopefully fun, meta-level adventure exploring what defines the Rom-Com genre.
