The world’s population has been reduced to less than 500,000, but the only remaining traces of the apocalypse are the Elements–“Elements of Life,” many call them.

Jelani is 18, but he’s already left one past behind and now lives as a soldier, fighting for the city of Hoodsale. Beneath the shadow of Mt. Hood, Oregon, he exists, going about his day-to-day life with the least enthusiasm possible.

However, when he’s called on a mission to hunt down the criminals of this world–“rebels”–his company is caught off guard and torn to pieces. But Jelani survives, obtains the power of an element, and, with the world on the brink of a second disaster, he resolves to gain strength and make his existence known.
