Across the streets and skyscrapers, selected people are chosen by an app that can manifest weapons and abilities from their phones, powers known as alters. They fight in secretive duels that are shrouded from the public that’s governed by a brutal ranking system where the strong rise and the weak disappear. Hidden battlefields tucked away in another reality where players take on each other. Some players chase power, some fight to survive and others hunt for things far more dangerous.

Vireo gradually discovers what’s wrong with his alter. It reacts differently than everyone else's, more wild and unstable and much stronger than it should be. It isn't just a brutal game, it's a system built far older than technology, something tied to forgotten gods and a shattered moon that wasn’t meant to be destroyed.
