An immensely charming story about a duke perhaps, maybe, possibly, finding love (although he'd never admit it.)
Incredibly well written, I enjoyed every chapter I read on account of Moon's breezy writing style and wonderful comedy. A particular highlight for me was the comedy present throughout the entire story, with certain scenes in particular living forever in my head (...its the executioner pinwheeling away...!)
In addition, Ambrillia's machinations and Luphor's attempts to be impervious to her charms wonderfully adds to the comedy of the story with each interaction. Watching Luphor unravel as he tries to hold fast to his dark and evil ways was incredibly amusing to read.
Another highlight for me was the lore of the world. Hearing about the Banshees, their death cries, and the Angel Feathers used in proposals really got my mind racing, thinking about how the people of this world lived and their unique ceremonies. It was an absolute delight, and I would've loved to learn more about the world and its people.
As for criticism, I would say that conflict is an area perhaps?
Luphor's family backstory involves elements that are serious and dramatic, but the villain is dispatched incredibly fast with a resolution that doesn't match the initial buildup.
This isn't necessarily a problem since this is a light-hearted romcom, but for me, I think it stuck out because I was invested in that particular story strand.
Overall, I'd say that this is a truly wonderful romcom!
The comedy is hysterical, and the dynamic between Luphor and Ambrillia continues to amuse long after their introductions.
I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a light and enjoyable read! ^^
