Shinsei Academy—where perfection defines worth. Yayoi Shizumi is flawless, disciplined, untouchable… and utterly alone. But when she’s pulled into a quiet club for introverts, led by the school’s most admired student, Haruo Tagechi, her carefully controlled world begins to unravel.
Inside the small room, conversations falter, silences stretch, and members slowly reveal the fears they’ve long hidden. What begins as an experiment to help socially withdrawn students becomes a fragile space of trust and warmth. Through shared routines, awkward laughter, and Haruo’s quiet guidance, Yayoi and the seven others discover something unexpected: connection.
As her perfect image slips, Yayoi realizes life isn’t about being flawless—it’s about the small moments, the bonds we build, and the courage to let others see who we really are.
Shinsei Academy was inspired by the quiet struggles of students who hide behind perfection. I wanted to explore how small moments—awkward conversations, shared routines, and subtle gestures—can change lives and help people connect in ways they never expected.
Through Yayoi and her friends, I wanted to show that life isn’t about being flawless, but about embracing imperfections, vulnerability, and courage. The club’s small, ordinary moments—laughing together, quietly supporting each other, facing fears—reflect how meaningful connections often grow in the unnoticed spaces of everyday life. Writing this story reminded me that even the quietest people have stories worth sharing, and that sometimes, the smallest steps lead to the biggest changes.
