Lukas, plagued by recent leukemia and a knee injury, suddenly finds himself in a weird and deadly pocket dimension: the black ruins of the City Under the White Sky.

He fights to survive, learns the magic of this place, and finds a cohort of other survivors. They must escape this place and return to the real world to help save it from whatever is happening.

With no certainty of what could happen, they push forward. And Lukas does this with his greatest curse—the blood that is slowly killing him.
