One night, after realising that their partner was seeing someone else Rikika is left all alone in the rain. Cold, soaked, and thinking that this was the end of her love life, Rikika wallows in her puddle of despair, hoping that maybe someone would stop her from drowning.

After spotting a young girl seemingly reflecting the atmosphere around her, Tsukihime — knowing that there's only one way to move on — picks her up and sends her home.
