For how fast this was written to make the contest deadline, I'd say it's pretty dang good. It's the sort of thing that makes me wish there was more content/length to it to flesh some things out. In a way though, I can see some people liking the open-endedness since it gives room for interpreting the story.

Oh and at first, some people might be put off with how gross some of the scenes/descriptions are, but that gradually becomes more comfortable as you read more of the story and learn how things really are (I was put off at first, but didn't mind it by the end lol). Overall, give it a read, it's worth it (especially since it's only 20k words).
