1912, Izumi was but but 3 years old when his mother, Himari Miyato, answered the door to find two Aysterian Military officers at her door. Her husband, Kosuke Miyato, who was a decorated officer in the Aysterian Military, had lost his life in the war, not to an enemy force, but to his own sides landmines. The untimely death left Himari alone with nothing but a son and "support" from the failing coalition government. Through the room's awkward silence, and Himari's tears, Corporal Aiza informs Himari of her late husband's last wish; "Go to The Grand and ask for Diego"

Years pass, the promise of hope that The Grand once held never materialised. Izumi grows up in the shadow of abuse and neglect, from his drug addicted mother and her abusive partners, until one day... he comes home from school. The house now empty. He wanders upstairs and finds something he wishes he could unsee, a reality shattering discovery that strips away any remaining innocence he once had.
