Captain Astro was engineered to explore the unknown.
Genetically enhanced and entrusted with humanity's most ambitious deep-space mission, the intelligent chimpanzee commands the Amateratsu-1 alone while the rest of the crew remains in suspended animation, training inside a shared virtual world.
When a mysterious anomaly tears the ship across the galaxy, the mission changes overnight. Following a faint radio signal into an uncharted asteroid field, Astro uncovers the first clue to a mystery far older—and far more dangerous—than anyone could have imagined.
As forgotten civilizations, unlikely allies, and impossible worlds begin to emerge from the darkness, Astro and his crew will discover that exploration comes at a price... and that some secrets were never meant to be found.
