Centuries ago, a creature of devastating power plunged the continent of Alkébulan into chaos. Neither the kingdoms nor their chosen ones could destroy it. Only an isolated people, entrenched in their colossal mountains, managed to drive it back — and to seal it away, for they could not annihilate it.

That people is now nothing more than a myth. Their neutrality is respected. Their secret, forgotten.

Yet Alkébulan has other concerns — the fragile balance between its kingdoms is cracking, and forces from distant lands threaten to set everything ablaze.
