In a sequence of events so rapid Mia Tranh barely has time to process what’s happening, she goes from participating in a national fencing tournament to being dropped into a city in another world, the goddess responsible for her situation having barely even explained what she’s meant to do.
Finding herself in the world of Twai, Mia is confronted by many things: firearms straight out of the 1700s, Victorian clothing, beings she always believed were fictional, and worst of all, slavery. Stranded in a strange world with no concrete goals, Mia decides her goal is going to be the first thing that comes to mind, and that’s freeing the slaves. But any plans she might have had of a slow and safe societal revolution are thrown out the window when she’s assaulted by slave catchers herself, and by the time she has a chance to slow down and take stock of her situation, she’s already well on her way to becoming this world’s Spartacus.
Hopefully her story will end a little better than his.
