This is the story of one tragic man, though he is not human as we may know it. For our story takes place some time around 50,000-40,000 BCE in a historical fantasy Upper Paleolithic. Our hero is not an adaptable and creative Homo Saipens like us, nor is he a sturdy and strong Neanderthal, he's not even a mysterious newfound Denisovan. For our hero in spite of being a grown man, a father, and a linchpin of his small community only stands at three feet tall. Because he is a Homo Floresiensis, a member of the tiny and broad footed hominids that evolved from Homo Erectus on the island of Flores.
When a tropical storm whips our hero from his island home of dragons and diminutive elephants he must cling to life aboard a mat of floating debris until ocean currents deposit him on the coasts of ice age peninsular Japan. There he must adapt to a new world of stronger, smarter, and faster hominids along with the primordial wild gods that stalk the earth and their magic powers.
While this is a historical fantasy series and I do take quite a lot of creative liberties for the sake of the story, I do try to be as accurate to modern research as I can be. Though with the ever-changing and fast evolving nature of the study of hominid evolution and Pleistocene paleontology means practically everything we know about a given topic can be flipped on its head from chapter to chapter. All art and writing is done by myself C.D. Magone.
