The heroes have lost, and the Demon King has turned the world into a dystopian hellscape.
As the sole survivor, former hero Ren ekes out a meager existence working at a fast food burger conglomerate now owned by his archenemy, wallowing in self hatred and guilt.
Every night in his fevered dreams, he remembers the people he couldn’t save, the friends he let die, and an impossible last request he could never fulfill.
As horrors from his past slowly emerge, Ren unwillingly finds himself in the company of new allies, and the lingering flame in his heart begins to spark.
Originally aimed to be submitted as part of the MAL x HF Heroic Fantasy Writing Contest.
This is my first novel. So, any feedback or comments would be greatly appreciated. But, I hope you enjoy it.
Update- Chapters probably published at least once a week. Thank you for your support so far. Truly, I didn't expect for this to do as well as it did.
This was originally aimed to be published to MAL x HF Heroic Fantasy writing contest, but I don't think I can make the deadline in time, and want to prioritize creating a (at least a little) better story than a rushed one.
