Two years after the Six-Year War, Prince Elijah—the strongest mage in all the Four Kingdoms and the celebrated hero of Orion—has disappeared.

Rather than claim the throne following his father's death, Elijah chooses a life of wandering and carrying the weight of a past he refuses to speak about.

His journey changes when he crosses paths with Lisa, a former assassin fleeing her homeland, Luna, a mysterious young mage and one of the last surviving members of the Indigo people, and Rowan, a seventeen-year-old warrior searching for his place in the world.

Four strangers from different walks of life begin travelling together.

But as they journey across the Four Kingdoms, they encounter remnants of the war, enemies hunting down Luna, and secrets that threaten to tear their newfound family apart.

Elijah has already completed his hero's journey.

Now he must discover what comes after it.
