Eleven centuries ago, the swordsman Genkurō rescued the celestial princess Kaguya, earning the wrath of the Moon god, Lune. Cursed to reincarnate 91 times, Genkurō is drawn to Kaguya by a red thread, but Lune orchestrates typhoons, plagues, and wars to ensure they die before reuniting. Disgusted by this cosmic cruelty, a rebel comet takes Lune hostage at gunpoint, forcing the god to recount its cruel 1100-year game. In the modern era, the final loop begins.
Genkurō, now a restless boy in Ecuador named Emilio, connects anonymously online with Kaguya, a numb teenager in Tokyo. Trading cosmic disasters for modern bureaucracy, Emilio fights across the globe to reach her. When they finally touch at a bamboo shrine, they vanish and shatter the ancient curse, leaving behind a new life and proving that neither divine malice nor an ocean can sever their bond.
