Jacob "Jake" Smith is a lazy, slobby fifteen-year-old boy. He lives a comfortably purposeless life of junk food and video games until one day a mysterious butterfly shows up outside his window. The next morning, Jake awakens in the magical land of Chū Nihon, where Yume, a powerful wizard of exceptional beauty, tells him that he is the one destined to save the world from the great evil of the tyrant emperor Imawashī. Now, aided by Yume and a merry band of strange people, Jake now has a purpose in his life… but just because he HAS it doesn't mean he WANTS it.
