A Tale of Hearts — Part 1

Before the sixteenth birthday of Rosalia Lynne Dynohart, the only daughter of Duke Alfred Thyme and Duchess Mary Shelley, the duke is falsely accused of murdering the duchess, losing the support of the people in House Dynohart. When bandits arrive to destroy the Dynoharts' household, Duke Alfred and some maids try to protect it, ending up dead trying to protect Rosalia. She flees, guided by Lucia. All the other maids are either executed or forced to serve other nobles. Lucia eventually dies protecting Rosalia from one more bandit, who tries to assault Rosalia. But before he could do so, he is killed by a passerby, shopkeep Kihara Quintel, who eventually takes her in. Two years later, Rosalia, now going by the surname Quintel, is a shopkeep apprentice helping Kihara with day to day life. But when she discovers mysterious forces of angels and demons, accidentally making a contract with one, she uses the forces to wreak havoc to those who wronged the Dynohart name.
