The Hollow

University student Kiseki Matsubayashi didn't expect to find herself being thrown into a life and death 'game' after falling through a puddle on a rainy day. Given just a weapon, a new name (Kiyashi), and thrown into a completely unknown world, she must fulfill her new life as a Hunter and defeat enemies, or face excruciating pain as punishment of failure. She forms an alliance with Sendo, a veteran of one year, who guides her through the rules of the 'game' and the life of living in the Hollow.

Just as she's getting used to the daily mission clearing, the Purging occurs. This is basically a time of suspended rules where other Hunters appear on the daily list. After she experiences her first Purging, Kiyashi vows to find a way to end the 'game' before the next Purging occurs.
