Nothing Grows Here

Portas, the City of Innovation, rises from the wastes below, a towering beacon of humanity’s achievement.

Inside the city, however, nothing grows. Pollution from the wastes has rendered the air toxic, and the Organic Regulation Agency (ORA) declared unregulated farming illegal. The population is fed by synthetic food created at giant factory farms.

Athan Raymond (Ray to his friends) is a Harvester at one of those farms, but his life changes when he finds a tree in an alleyway, along with the woman who grew it from the palm of her hand.
