Isei Kitagawa lives an ordinary life in the city of New Tokyo during the year 2XXX. New Tokyo is a high rate technological metropolis where humans have developed enhanced cognitive abilities due to each one of them having a computer chip implanted into their neocortex. It isn’t until Isei is sent to the third rate school nurse’s office, Shimao Komari, that he begins to learn that he is different in strange ways. Diagnosed with a defective Neuro-chip, Isei has the ability to engage in FPR (false pattern recognition) which turns out to be as much a blessing as it is a curse. Despite seeing it as a shortcoming, he eventually realizes that he holds the key to see his society for what it truly is.
