not to put on the conspiracy hat but u know how emperor and empress are popular and smiley smiley with the people...and their two children are most certainly not...and with the royal siblings not looking at each other...makes u wonder what the home life is like. 👁️

TBH if my bestie suddenly got engaged with some rando she just met I'd also be at least mildly concerned like GIRL???? so i lowkey do understand lucien's thing. he hasn't outright DONE anything outrageous yet, tho he could stand to sort out whether or not his concern is bc he's romantically interested in her or if he's concerned in her as a friend. ofc this is rofan-land so he'll prob pull some "I'D MAKE U HAPPIER THAN HE EVER COULD" bs but for now he's just going "????"

I know this probably isn't what you meant for us to focus on but OOO lucien and Ceciles mother was very good with the gun I see.

I wonder if Cheshire pissed his pants when lucien fired near his dick. Shame lucien wasn't a worse shot. He could've missed and made sure Cheshires genes never make it into the next generation 😔. Wonder if the scherz lady will be captured too, or if she will claim innocence.

Giselle wanting to follow but deciding to stay back bc it'd be more helpful that way!! Her telling him to do a good job and him executing it well enough for her to say good work!!

The ball is slowly but surely creeping closer. Perhaps we might even get a scene where Giselle is dressed up and lucien gets the classic stunned reaction... 🤩

Completely unrelated sidenote but the part where Cecile got knocked out via whatever drug reminds me of the time I tried smelling salts for funsies and boy does that shit wake you up in the most eyewatering way. Like...ofc it does, that's what they're used for but WOW I was doubting how well they worked and uh yeah they work like they do in the movies fr .

did chesire panic and decide he might as well nab her before the rofan cops get him? what DID cecile write in the letter, bc surely she didnt just go "AYO I KNOW UR CRIMES U DIRTBAG," right? sure she wouldn't just tip him off that they were onto him, for the sake of the missing women? it's also surprising she immediately believed lucien, tho i guess that just speaks to the strength of their relationship.

and since things DID change, you think giselle is gonna blame herself? bc at least in her visions, there was the comfort of predictability, but now things are out of whack.

what was clara trying to say about her duke lover? or is it the usual rofan love issues where they will eventually resolve and grow closer with each as a result?

OHO and so the truth is revealed! Lucien finally believes Giselle, though looks like she's still annoyed by his whole behavior, which, yeah same. cool to see im not completely wrong with my predictions from last chapter!

and OH i thought that a bunch of noble ladies would disappear at once during the ball, not that they gradually went missing over time. though in hindsight that would make more sense, since a mass disappearance would def catch more attention compared to one every once in a while. for some reason i thought chesire was some pied piper that swooped a bunch in one go.

on a more serious note, i bet the reason mondia lady looked jealous was bc chesire is pulling the same trick with her as well. maybe thats how all the other noble ladies disappeared in the vision, he's friendly with all the ladies, jusstttt enough to make them feel like they're special in his eyes but not enough to make it incriminating. like..."oh he's friendly with everyone but IM special. all the other ladies are either just clinging to him bc they're misunderstanding him 🙄"

OHO SO SHE DID GET A VISION and that chesire guy WAS sketchy. also damn lucien, ik giselle sounds off her rockers but at the very least he could've kept a closer eye on his sister just in case it was true. or idk...assign secret bodyguards or smth to her. hope he DOES do smth about it instead of just letting it be, bc if he does and the worst DOES happen, he better not blame giselle bc she told him beforehand and he was the one to disregard it.
