Thanks for the feedback! When I wrote the draft for the supposed 1st chapter (The one promised on the synopsis), it was 7k words in length. I believed I got ahead of myself a bit and got carried away when writing it. So instead of redoing it, I just split it into 4 chapters. Looking back, I should probably rewrote it. I can understand your frustration as a reader, reading a set-up that spanned 4 chapters in length might rub people the wrong way and hurt the novel. I'll note your concern and apply it for future projects.
