Aye, March Comes In like a Lion is actually the reference haha. Shorin is based on Shogi, so it felt like a fun thing to do.
Hana saying that about helping is totally a symptom of me rushing at this point. I wanted to include several side quests of community helping so we could become attached to them more before the cult takes over, but I was so panicked about not finishing at this point, I just injected it here on the way to the next major plot point.
Arata x Toma was meant to be teased. To the point where Toma was going to be flat out stated to be Bi during the chapters from his POV lol. I kind of wanted a three way unrequited love triangle. Where Toma liked Arata, Arata liked Hana and Hana like Toma. I did feel a bit handcuffed by the vision and time crunch though, so I just left it more subtle.
I think I had intended Arata to have a more severe reaction to the dead greenfox when Hana was attacked by Danza tbh. I should've done another pass on that. Her hair cutting moment was probably given too much focus there. It was meant to be that she was motivated to change fate as much for her empathy over his hang ups as for herself.
