I like the way you write. The story is easy to read yet still have an elegance to it created by the right choic of words like for example "reluctant permission". For my taste, I emphasize "my taste" hahah, the chapter had a lot of information yet we got to know little. How did he find the places? What exactly were his challenges? And so on. I just think you could have made it so much better. However, I still liked it. Maybe it's just your style of writing.
