I apologize for the length of time since my last comment.
This chapter introduces some interesting new elements. Similar to other characters, these two feel an innate, almost romantic sort of connection. However, as demonstrated by the discussion on birds, they don't actually seem to have come from the same place. With the name's Dio knows being unlike any on our Earth I almost wonder if this afterlife, the Dream, is the afterlife for people across multiple universes.
With that in mind, I wonder if the connection people feel here has less to do with their connections in the previous life and perhaps instead have to do with the timings or maybe even causes of death.
Also it's interesting to note that despite losing all of their memories they still seem to think of their past lives as themselves. A similar setup occurs in the show Severance except in that show the character's memories are completely split so the each version of themselves considers themselves to be a completely independent person despite having the same body.
