Thank you very much for saying so! I hope you continue to enjoy!
The weapons parts thing isn't especially common, but I know of guys that do exactly that; they make "80% uppers" or something like that, because that's the legal "limit" in a sense, where boring and rifling the barrel and completing the firing assembly constitute true "firearms manufacturing", which is highly regulated (to my knowledge). It does occasionally come up in gun control conversations, because you don't need to scratch a serial number off if one is never put on, which is why machines that CAN do the barrels and other specific parts are regulated (from what I've heard).
It's like the 3D printed guns; the regulators can ban the distribution of their models once it was realized how easy it is to 3D print them, but unless they choose to destroy the entire 3D printing industry because of a fraction of a percent of people who bother to learn how to and then do so, and a fraction of that population that actually has the know-how to make the 3D printed gun "reliable"... more people are intentionally run over by cars than killed by 3D printed guns.
Anyways, it was for a bit of character flavor, because there are 90 million "generic salary man" isekais, but not so many technicians who would have at least some working knowledge of making a gun work in a fantasy world xD
