Okay so we have this young pubescent child who's been slowly influenced by the evil vizier, carefully seeding his head with flawed ideas about power, morality, the value of human life, and so on. But the child is not only resistant to the idea, he is completely aware of it's untruth, and has a more empathetic worldview as well, talking points and all. So, my question is: who or what was the moderating influence on this young child, to keep his impressionable mind from being affected by one man alone(unsuccessfully so, apparently)?

Man, this government really needs a Quentin Vex of it's own :p so many assassins!

While I very much love the disgustingly accurate descriptions that Rakkan is giving Morenna to this stranger, I a) don't think it's very nice of him to be speaking like that about her to a relative stranger to her, but more importantly b) don't think that Morenna's characterization so far would make her just... stay quiet and *let him* talk about her like that?

She also seems kind of weirdly passive about it ngl, letting him get way farther than her pride would seemingly allow.

From what we've seen of what this character has been doing with perfected skill at the mere age of twelve and fourteen, I reckon she *has* been interacting regularly with the outside world (where else would she find the teachers to reach a point where she can single-handedly massacre an entire assassin's guild with no witnesses? Resolve plots, hire workers?). However, in all her escapades, she never had to interact with the very unfamiliar concept of proper manners and court-talk and pleasantries and such, hence the awkwardness. But being coy with words and subtle explanation of inherent danger seems very in line with learning how to kill and be stealthy I feel. A blunt ambusher would be a funny sight to see, I think :-)

Ooh I'm sensing a divide between rationalism and mysticism in the culture here. I predict that the kingdom tries applying a mystical twist on the nature of magic to oppress the common folk, while secretly keeping the fundamental logic of it hidden and secret.

I am very confused. Princess Morenna visits the Emperor's throne room, where she shadow steps past the guards, walks up to the throne, challenges the king's authority, butts heads with the court, and then... leaves?? What was she even there for? Why did she come here?

Like I understand from a reader's perspective we were here to establish characters and the small information update about the plot, but there's no mention of *why* the scene happened in the first place, in-universe.

Somehow that's even worse. At least momentum can be blocked by armour or shields. If she can teleport things *inside other people*, then she's basically god in this world.

It doesn't even have to be a weapon. I can't imagine most people would be able to function with a butter knife materialised in their heart, lol.

Ooh shit. That power is absolutely busted. Pushing things through any dark objects, and being able to somehow echolocation sense the shape of entire building complexes through magic? This is a batman level threat, and we haven't even hit the time skip yet.

The key thing though is she seems to be able to impart momentum through sending things, like the needle going from her pocket to having enough speed to penetrate the man's neck. This makes her effectively a walking rail gun. Terrifying.

Very eager to see where this goes. Not going to lie, normally I would not click on this type of story(out of personal preference), but I have learned to trust this author implicitly to create works of fiction of such a quality that even if it becomes that the genre is not to my taste, I trust that the prose, worldbuilding, character depth, dialogue, and lore of the world will be unparalleled in its intricacy, consistency, and quality.

Webbonomicon is an author who has been writing for many years, slowly improving, refining, and incrementally bettering himself in the art of books. If you've never tried this type of book before, or if any part of you has the slightest doubt of it, I urge you: try. Just this once. I promise you won't regret it.
