Last chapter they implied Morena's shadow magic is actually a field magic, probably electromagnetism.
And now we learn there's an army of clockwork soldiers beneath the castle, that can be charged with light magic... and that's also probably electromagnetism, with shadow and light being two sides of it, like fire and ice are two sides of thermal energy.
So I'm calling it: Morena will eventually power the evil clockwork army, probably to save the empire. There will be much evil cackling and posturing, and she'll get pissed when people throw her a savior's parade instead of being afraid
