I thought it was really well written. I especially liked the dialogue as it was straight to the point which is good for the first chapter. It lets the reader ease into the story. Causal conversations do not have any inconsequential words in them so that makes the conversation/dialogue feel real and as a reader you can relate to it. For example, when the mother dismisses Ayumi when she asks "What does it mean to fall from the sky", that's how a normal mother would respond. The conversations felt very real to me as that's literally how my friends or family converse. It didn't feel dramatic or over the top which would make it surreal.
