Chapter 1:

In the Light

Sora no Kiseki: A Bittersweet Return to the Stars

A girl with eternal life was dissolving into radiance.

Her form began to fade, quietly yet inexorably, becoming transparent from her fingertips to her knees as though a glass sculpture were crumbling away. Her jet-black twin tails swayed in the still air, her eyes glowing with nostalgia and warmth.

Her name was Sora.

"So, my role has finally come to an end, hasn't it..." Her voice trembled slightly, yet carried within it an unmistakable sense of peace. Particles of light swirled around her like fireflies, gently encircling her form.

As she wrapped her arms around herself in a gentle embrace, more luminous particles began to gather. As though possessed of their own will, they drew closer, nestling against her body with tender care. Soon, the radiance had enveloped her completely, making her appear like a butterfly waiting to emerge from its chrysalis.

"Everyone... thank you." Behind her closed eyelids, memories flowed like a cascading river: days of joy spent with her dearest friend, the devoted supporters who always cherished her presence, the friend whose rivalry brought warmth to her heart, and countless meetings and partings that colored her journey.

Each moment glimmered like an irreplaceable treasure.

"I was... truly happy..." The words fell softly from Sora's lips. The glow around her grew stronger, and her form began to blur at the edges.

In that moment, a wish bloomed in her heart. It was the first time she had ever felt such a human emotion.

"But... if I could... just one more time..." Sora opened her eyes one last time, and they held a light she had never shown before—a distinctly human gleam.

"This time... as someone ordinary..." Her words carried the weight of a prayer, as though speaking to someone unseen.

"To laugh with others, to cry with others..." The shimmering air around her began to shine even more brilliantly.

"To slowly grow older..." With each wish she spoke, soft radiance continued to pour from her body. Her final words held a touch of melancholy, yet were wrapped in warmth.

"With everyone... one more time..."

And then Sora melted into the light. But this was not the end.

In the blinding brilliance, a strange sensation enveloped her. It felt as though someone was gently taking her hand, spreading a familiar warmth throughout her being. From beyond the radiance came what sounded like the gentle tinkling of a bell.

As her consciousness began to fade within the luminous embrace, Sora quietly closed her eyes, surrendering herself completely. This was not an ending, but rather the herald of a new beginning. Her earnest wish had surely reached someone's ears.

And in the moment when the brilliance reached its peak— Silence fell, and the space was swallowed into darkness.

...

...

...

"Congratulations! It's a healthy baby girl!"

A joyful voice rang out, accompanied by powerful newborn cries. It was the moment that marked the beginning of a new story—a small miracle.

Those cries seemed like Sora's feelings taking on a new form. As if in response to the powerful sound, the morning sun began to rise quietly beyond the window.

"That wish has opened a new door..."

A small voice echoed from somewhere, dissolving gently into the morning light.

This is a tender yet ephemeral tale of an eternal being longing for the miracle of 'ordinary,' seeking fleeting happiness within the confines of a finite life. A journey to uncover the most cherished treasure of all – the humble gift known as 'everyday life.'
