Chapter 2:

A hooded man

Eclipse

He walked through the tall woods, night dark with clouds raining above but the droplets not touching him, stopping an inch before his dress and skin.
It was a heavy thunderstorm in the woods, raining loudly, more loud because of it falling through the crowds of tall trees, and lightning every once in a moment. And in the middle of the woods, under the storm, was a small wooden house that had fallen silent.
Inside the house, which was wreckage of broken things, torn walls, the whole house in a mess like a greater storm had destroyed the place. And in one corner lay dead a man, covered in wounds and cuts, and a tape recorder near his hand, Charles Denry.
That's when at the door, as lightning struck behind, stood a dark figure, a hooded man. He came in, walking through the wreckage, and stood at the dead body. He had come there walking through the rain but he was completely dry. He opened his hand and the tape recorder shot up to into them, on its own, like an invisible powerful force pulled it to his hand. He looked at them for a while, sighed while mopping his eyes, shaking his head, and put it in his pocket.
Then he raised his one hand and the dead body started rising up, levitating in the air, and stopped midair. The man out his hand down and walked through the house out of the door, the dead body, hovering in the air, following behind him. As he stepped into the rain the droplets stopped before touching him and fell to the side, like there was a thin shield all over his body, the same happened with the dead body as it followed him into the rain.
He walked through the woods, the floating dead body following, and after walking for a while he came out into a an open grassland that stretched beyond eye's reach. At some distance, a shovel was digging a pit in the ground, on its own, floating in the air. Digging a grave, it was almost done. It was covered with an invisible protective layer, like a roof over the grave, so that it stays dry and rain falls on the side, not in the grave pit.
He went to the dug grave and as he moved his hand, the shovel stopped midair and then fell lifeless on the grass nearby. With the wave of his other hand the the levitating dead body flew to the grave and stopped over it, and then started going lower till it reached the ground and settled on it peacefully. The the pile of soil from the side started filling into the grave, over the body of the man which soon disappeared in the soil. It kept filling till it was full to the brink, while the man stood there, controlling it all with the move of his hand and fingers.
Then he went to the grave, bent down, took a handful of soil and put it on the grave, and then stood up and joined his hands. But even though he tried, he couldn't help his legs from shaking. He fell to his knees and the invisible layers, protecting him and the grave from the rain, vanished and rain soaked the ground and him, his hood and body getting wet.
He started sobbing uncontrollably, his head bowed down, fist clenched, he was trembling. He bent down, his hands and head on the ground, and started hitting the soil with his clenched fist, his sobs intense, and then said through the sobs, "I'm sorry Denry! I... I am sorry! Shit! Shit! What have I done!" and then thew his head and body up, his hood falling from his hair, rain hitting his face and running through his hair, and screamed into the sky with all his power, like screaming out all his frustration, and when he did a huge force blew around him, like an invisible bomb of sheer force exploded, him at the center of it. The grounds shook, the leaves flew out and the trees blew away from the explosion of the immense force. And alone with these, someone, hiding in the woods, almost got blown away but held it tight. He made a noise which could have given him out but the man was too in sorrow to notice.
A lean man in a shredded cloak with a hood, with a sinister smirk, hiding behind a tree. His smirk widened at the blow of force from the man. "Delicious Kenji" he whispered in a chilling voice, "You are delicious" and licked his lips, his grin widening while a black droll rolled down his mouth.
The man fell down again, head on the ground, soaked all wet, and continued crying for a while before, finally calming himself down. He sat up straight, and then stood up, mopping his eyes, and then faced up, eyes closed, rain washing over his face, and gave out a huge sigh, just to stand there for a long while, contemplating the situation in his mind.
He then put his hand in his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper, a pen from his chest pocket, the rain touching none of them, and wrote
"Isabelle
I'm sorry, Denry is dead.
I couldn't save Denry. I was too late.
I have failed you, I have failed Denry, I couldn't protect a friend. And though I don't have the right to ask for your forgiveness, I hope in future you and young Aldric forgive me. And don't worry, I will take care of you and Aldric, and I will get revenge on the man who did this. Denry's death will not be for nothing.
I'm sorry.
Kenji"
He put the tape recorder at the center of the paper and folded it around it, then sighed looking at it for a while, a hesitation on his face, then with a deep breath in and out, tossed it in the air, the thin invisible shield around it, and it stopped midair and then shot up forward in the sky, disappearing from his sight as he looked at it with a mix of pain, sadness and regret on his face dripping down with the rain water.
The creepy man in the woods was looking at all of this. When Kenji threw up the paper and tape recorder, he smiled and then opened his mouth inhumanly wide, his jaws low to his chest, his mouth all black from inside including his teeth, and then there was a bulge in his neck and a jet black crow's head popped out of his mouth. And when the paper and tape shot into the sky to the forward direction, the crow flew out of his mouth behind them, closely following, out of Kenji's notice as it was camouflaged in the darkness of the night.
The man's mouth closed into a heinous grin again, and mopping his mouth he said with a chilling chuckle, "Hehehe... This is going to be nasty... really, really nasty... hehehehe"
While Kenji walked away, pulling up his hood over his head, the rain drops mixed with his tears.
