Raceblazers

Blizzard Tunnel was a stage that had a reputation for being one of the coldest places to ever exist in the Blazethon’s catalog of labyrinth-based locations

Ghiz, being a strange arctic planet, was filled with small floating creatures of all kinds that seemed to have the identical characteristics of a bipedal body and large cute eyes.

On a surface level, these were one of the many wondrous features about this world, but Chelbie knew full well not to get distracted after what she had recently went through.

The only other thing to consider was that there was a species of arctic bunnies who looked a lot like a certain magical rabbit she had met way before this entire racing competition.

Regardless of this, her attention focused heavily on passing across loops, making hard turns, and enduring the frosty weather. The tunnel itself stretched for miles and felt like it had been slightly abandoned for awhile. The red lights glowed atop, casting light on the arrows that pointed racers often down the right direction.

There were also openings in between this tunnel that exposed the outside world of Ghiz. Of what she could make out, these mountainous hills of snow seemed to be part of the design that held up the tunnel itself.

Flashing fireworks could also be seen in the background of the dusky sky.

“Damn, I sure hope Hisa doesn’t see me drivin’ out here like this. There’s still like a bunch more people to pass up after what those weirdos tried to do to me.”

Rushing through the snow after travelling in rainy weather began to cause the tires to develop hints of frost. Even for Chelbie who could already tolerate low temperatures that hit past below zero, this was a bit lower than even she could handle by herself.

Turning on the heater inside her truck out of spite, she heard loud engine noises coming from behind her.

It was three blue Corvettes.

“Oh great, it’s the fuckin’ Hologirlz. What are they up to?” she asked herself as they were brushing close to the rear end of her vehicle.

During this heated interaction, one of the girls from inside their vehicle threw a metallic blue flower into the cargo compartment of the Flamethrottle Fury. It made a strange beeping noise that alerted Chelbie of what was going on.

This was clearly a bomb that was getting ready to detonate.

Luckily for her, Chelbie had equipped the truck with many kinds of special components that were unique to her vehicle. In this case specifically, she pressed a small blue button which was placed on the right side of her integrated radio.

“Back at ya Shit Sparkle!” she said as the cargo’s flat surface suddenly swung out like a catapult and threw the bomb right back at the group of Hologirlz.

As a result, two of the cars exploded into a fiery disaster while the last one survived and surpassed them in order to finish what they had planned on doing.

Looking back into her rear view mirrors again, Chelbie could tell that the fight to the finish line would take more than two tricks to shake off the competition. She was going to have to use the environment to her advantage.

They were now at the halfway point which was where many diverging paths could be taken, whether that was the five loops in a row, a completely water frozen track which could be thin ice, or the heavy piles of snow that were going to be a pain to trudge through.

If there was one that stuck out from the others after riding through this second stretch for so long, it was going to have to be the snowbank.

This was her best bet.
