Chapter 13

"So you have been in a rollercoaster ride during the time I was in coma right?" Jasmin said while sitting on a chair

They all were now back in their house, where all of 4 them in the family are now finally present. Though john is upstairs packing the necessary things for his mission, the rest was at the kitchen table, bringing jasmin up to speed.

"Yes jasmin, and im really glad that your brother was also safe during those times." Angel said

"I tell ya, it was very hectic of a time. Both of us were suddenly taken to protection, as john took care of the enemies. Good thing he gave us powers and woke you up." Tod said

"So, whats his mission now?" Angel said, curious

"He said hes gonna go to mexico. I dont know the exact details, but I know that hes gonna help someone." Tod said

"Anyways, just why did he use me as a sample? And in front of many people?" Jasmin said, where she was a bit pissed from everything

"There are about 4 reasons jasmin: one is that I need help and I needed someone I can really trust, another is that I needed you to be able to defend yourself when the time comes so I activated your mutant potential, another is I needed someone to demonstrate my worthiness so that me and my family cant be easily targetted, and I needed someone who fits the criteria needed for those 3 reasons." John said as he came down the stairs with his backpack

"If you put it that way, then I understand. But why me?" Jasmin said

"I also wanted to complete our family, instead of letting you off in dreamland. Which is mainly why I chose you sis." John said with a smile

"So your telling me to go to work, is that it?" Jasmin said sarcasticly

"See it this way sis, at least you wont be in coma for a little longer, and you can help us all in everything we need." John said

"True. Hahh.. fine." Jasmin said with a face palm

"Anyways, its time for us to go to the airport dad." John said

"Are you sure you just dont wanna fly there?" Tod said before standing up

"Yup. Both governments will be the ones who will pay for expenses anyways, as thats what we also agreed on." John said

"Ok. No comments there." Jasmin said as they agreed

After that, john went to the airport being driven by tod, and later flew the very long trip towards mexico. He later arrived after some time at mexico city airport, like more or less half a day worth of time, and was also able to enjoy the food in airport restaurants along the way. Of course, he added the bill on the governments tab. When he got to the parking lot in the airport, he rendezvous with his ride, and rode towards puebla city.

"We have arrived." The driver said

"Ok, thanks. Though I will just ask, what is with all the security around me? And whats also with the thick security in the house?" John said as he views his surroundings

"The security around you is just protocol to protect a VIP. And there is thick security around the house right now to protect a major witness." One of his security said as john understood

After a few minutes, they arrived at the house, where they and the car had undergone security checks before entering. The house is a big mansion, where the mansion had a big lawn and a big gate, also with parking space enough for 3 cars. The weather was also not good, where dark clouds covered the skies.

“such a grand house, is the witness from a rich family or something?” john said after the car stopped at the front door of the mansion

“yes, something like that. Though for the rest of the details, you should ask them.” one of his security said as they got out of the car

As john is quick to understand, he just nods for confirmation, before they were greeted by the host of the house.

“greetings mr johnny storm! I have been expecting you!” a woman in her fifties said after he opened the door

She was in her best dress, even though she had some eyebags under her.

“this is victoria duntrio, the witness.” one of his security said as she took the liberty of shaking johns hand

“I see. So, just what do you need of me maam?” john said with a smile

“thank you very much for taking your time in coming here sir john. I now have my daughter upstairs.” victoria said, inviting him inside

The interior had 2 big staircases on each side, in the front lobby, where everything else inside the house are just decorated with fancy decorations and furniture. And while they go inside, only a few security goes with them.

“about that. They didn’t inform me of the details of this mission aside that there is someone that needs to be cured.” john said as they now go up the big stair

“yes, I will explain my story after you see my daughter.” victoria said

“nope, just how can I treat the patient if I don’t know the whole story?” john said as they arrived at the second floor

“You are right. Though what makes you different from all the doctors that we have sent to her?” victoria said while walking

“I have the power to cure people, depending on the illness of the patient in question. Unlike the others, I wont use any medicines or rituals, like I wont even need them at all.” john said

“I saw the news, and I will believe you a bit. Anyways, my story goes like this. Life was normal for both me and my husband, on both dating and marriage. But it was only later that I know that my husband was a drug syndicate, and he also had my parents in his hands. So I cant just escape, even when im about to have little beth. When beth was born, she was also normal, until she was 10 when something happened to her. At first, we thought she was just acting, but then she killed one of the house keepers! So we had her examined by many doctors, practitioners, and even with quacks claiming that they can heal her, to no avail. Which is why when I saw you on TV curing your own sister, I thought that maybe he may be able to cure her. So I had the deal with the government, in return for all our wealth and information.” victoria said before they arrived at beths room

“so what happened with your husband?” john said, curious

“he was backstabbed by other syndicates, when they knew that his daughter had gone nuts and killed someone.” victoria said sadly

“alright then, your story is good. You can now show me beth.” john said as she agrees

When she opened the door, john saw that beths leg was chained to the bed while she was just sitting at the center of the bed, and the bed was cemented straight at the ground. Beth was a bit thin, where her figure was ok, except for her dread complexion. Then when the door was fully opened, at lightning speed, john jumped to pin her and touched her forehead for a second. By the time anyone realizes what was going on, john then got out of the bed at normal speed, and stood beside the now unconscious beth. And while the bed collapsed due to the sudden jump.

“what just happened?” victoria said as she enters the room

“I jumped at her to prevent her from running away, and cured her.” john said like it wasn’t a big deal

“you what?!” victoria said, surprised

“dont worry, her brain now is currently reforming itself prior to the time of her sickness, plus reprogramming her own sickness to activate her own potential as a mutant.” john said, assuring

“seriously?! you can do that?!” they all said

“but why make her a mutant?” victoria

“yes, I can. Now lets all watch on what kind of power she might have.” john said with a smile

But before she could even talk, the room suddenly went very hot, where a pillar of fire suddenly rose up to surround beth.

“quick! Lets all get out now!” john said as he realized the situation

As he and the security made victoria evacuate, the mansion was suddenly engulfed in fire. Good thing that it was now raining outside, or else the fire would have spread further.

“just what did you do?!” victoria said, now angry at john

“so what? You would have liked for her mental illness to become some random illness instead?” john said in a bit of frustration

As she doesnt have any comeback for that remark, they all just waited until the fire subsided, before finding that beth was fine and safe from the fire. Even though she was naked in return, she was unharmed from the fire itself.
