Chapter 15

A week after that, at NASA HQ, there was another event that needed utmost attention. Where one of the telescope in london just picked up something big.

"Sir, can you take a look at this? Or is it just my eyes due to overwork?" The monitor guy said to his boss

"What now? You might want to say that its aliens again right? Just leave it be." The boss said in her seat

"No, you really have got to see this boss!" The guy said, alerted at what he saw

"Hahh.. fine. If I hear about your rubbish again, im totally gonna sue you." The boss said

"That was just me flirting with you, you know. Though this time, its really different! I really am seeing something!" The guy said

But when she saw the monitor, there was actually meteor showing on the screen!

"I cant believe what im seeing right now." The boss said

"See, I told you so." The guy said

"I have to call the president now!" The boss then hurried to the phone to call president joel.

It was now night time in america, when the call was made, where joel was asleep by then.

*Ring*

"You have got to have a good reason for calling me this late general, im already tired from my meetings and work so I want to have a good rest." Joel

"Sir, please calm down when you hear about this." The general

"Im already calm, out with it." Joel

"There is an urgent call from NASA saying that there is a sighting near mars, that a meteor the size of america is headed this way." The general

"What?! Are you sure about this?!" Joel

"Yes sir." The general

"Alright. Call a meeting right now, only for US generals and officials. And bring NASA along the meeting." Joel said as he got up from bed

"Yes sir. Though wont you call all the other countries as well?" The general

"No, we have to do this ourselves. Since we are america, the only country capable of countering that monster of a meteor." Joel

As joel dropped the phone, and gone to immediately change clothes, he then goes to meeting with all US officials, generals and NASA to make counter measures for the meteor. They all debated, while NASA explained that their only course is to launch all the nukes in the world to counter or redirect the meteors course. Joel was so irritated and frustrated at the fact that the only thing they can do is rely on other countries on what they can do in the first place.

"Sir, I think china and russia are also reaching the same conclusion." An official said

"Whats the word on their actual decision general?" Joel said

"As of now, nothing is yet reported sir." A general said

"Maybe they are waiting for us to take the lead sir." An official said

"Nonesense! We must think of all our options before going there!" Joel said strongly

And thus, the meeting went on to no other solutions being made. And there in a room, john was enjoying his tea while watching a thunderstorm right outside the window.

*Ring*

"Hello mr president, im still in the middle of search and destroy of all terrorists in the afghan capital. What can I do for you?" John

"Hey john, just what is your mission again?" Dueta

"My mission is to seize control of the country from the terrorists." John

"And why is the capital having so much lightning? And why search and destroy?" Dueta

"As expected, you have catch on quickly on whats really happening." John

"Of course! Your action is all over the news! They are even saying that its now maybe Armageddon happening!" Dueta

"Yeah, about that. My solution for the recapture of their capital is to make a lightning storm that will last for a week. Dont worry, I have already informed them a day before. So those who are outside will be assumed as terrorists and will be destroyed by lightning." John

"And just why did you even think of that?! That is not the solution!" Dueta

"So what really is the solution? To just take down every terrorist one by one until I retake the capital? That would take years! And I even asked you if you would like the easy way or the hard way." John

"You know, even I sometimes doubt my own decisions to send you to missions. Like, is there still some humanity left in you?" Dueta

"I have. Im just stating facts, on the real solution. Besides, you and the other leaders said you would go for the easy way." John

"Anyways, we might have a bigger problem. For this, you must either connect to the internet or come back to manila. ASAP!" Dueta

"Ok, but whats the big--" john

"Just do it! And stop the lightning storm on your way!" Dueta

"I mean, its still 4 days since im doing this." John

"Just come back john. Please." Dueta

"Yes sir." John said before he ended the call

With that, John vanished the lightning storm, where whats left is just a clear night sky before john flew back to manila. Then after a few hours, he finally arrives at the malacanang, where dueta was waiting anxiously at the lawn.

“good thing you are here now, we have an emergency going on.” dueta said, as john was descending

“so, whats the emergency?” john said before he landed

“according to JAXA, the japanese counterpart of NASA, and from a source they have from NASA itself, a meteor is coming!” dueta said, very worried

“I see. Whats the size and how long until the impact?” john said seriously

“they said that the time before impact would be a month later, and the size is the same size as america itself!” dueta said, as they now walk towards inside the building

“so we got just a month huh.. I have a very simple, and only solution to that. But we would need the cooperation of all the countries who have nukes.” john said

“just tell me your plan, and I will try to make it a reality.” dueta said

“they probably have thought already, on how to change the meteors course. Though I will say it: launch all nukes towards the meteor, at an angle, so that it wont be able to hit earth.” john said

“yes, that might work, since the person at JAXA also said that nukes wouldnt be enough. But just how would we be able to convince the other countries?” dueta said

“I have an idea. You can just send representatives of all countries here, so that I can make them into a mutant for free. How about that?” john said as dueta agrees

With that, most countries then agreed to cooperate, including china and russia. Though america didn’t respond, they suddenly snuck some during the activation, but was quickly found out by the mind reader from mexico which they also invited.

“so, what now john?” dueta said, as he and all the leaders who agreed to the nuke launch was online for the meeting

“after I go to space, launch all the nukes you have towards the meteor, and I mean all of them.” john said seriously

“what?!” all the leaders said before the majority had complaints, specially with the countries with nukes

“so you are saying we should just expose ourselves to danger? Cause preparing new nukes would take a long time!” chinese leader said as russian leader agrees

“I know. But do we all even have a choice? Anyways, whether they like it or not, america must participate as well in this. Or else humanity will be extinct.” john said seriously

“so as leaders, we all must try and convince that stubborn US president in a weeks time.” dueta said, following up on johns words

“I agree.” dennis said as all the other leaders agrees

As all are now in agreement, they all did their best in a weeks time, in convincing america on also launching all their nukes. And as america finally agrees, the plan was then pushed through.

“hey john, how are you feeling?” the person in the comms said

John was now wearing his first spacesuit, which was developed by JAXA, and flew towards space.

“just fine thanks, though a little bit tight and constricted.” john said

“its fine actually, its not made for comfortability, but for survival.” the person in the comms said as john had no other comments while flying towards space

When john reached space, he then flew towards the center between earth and mars, where the meteor is currently at. And as john arrived in space, all the nukes on earth was fired towards space, where its calculated to only reach in between earth and the moon. And thats also where john brings all the nukes with him, towards the meteor, where he also has the manual switch for the nukes. Then as he finally arrived, and with the help of a guiding system to calculate on the spot on where to put all the nukes, he turned on the switch for the timers and threw all of them towards the spot. All before he used his lightning, where he just used all the atoms around the space around him to generate lightning, and hit all the nukes once the nukes hit the meteor. Then he also hit the meteor with his lightning after that, thus using most of his own power, just for the meteor to move away from both the moon and earth. After all that, he then flew back towards earth, where all its people are now celebrating.
