Chapter 13:

Starting Tomorrow, you are the Hiro

To the day when I will finally look forward to Tomorrow

Taro always looked forward to what tomorrow would bring, but when his time to go would come, he hoped that he could just be done with it quickly and without causing too much pain for anybody.

This is the exact reason why he didn't search for his close ones when he jumped through time. Not that he had a lot of people close to him in the first place.

After all, he has been an orphan on the street for as long as he could remember. He was a kind person because he never knew kindness towards himself, so when he felt it for the first time, he started wanting to follow the example. He wanted to become a hero.

Why did this happen. Make is stop Please make it stop!

For some reason, losing his head was not the end for him, or at least not for his consciousness.

Whatever made Taro have a sense of self was moved to the weird creature that was inhabiting the rest of his body. But he had absolutely no control over anything his body would do. Moreover, he could feel how that thing was eating away at him.

IF TOMORROW IS ALSO LIKE THIS, THEN I DON'T WANT IT! PLEASE, I BEG YOU, JUST LET ME DIE!

He was scared, he could hear the creatures thoughts, but he couldn't understand anything. Just a lot of voices that, while making a lot of noise, said nothing.

He has been crawling on the ground like that for weeks, but he didn't know that. He could see, but it wasn't the kind of sight he was used to. he could feel time passing, but it wasn't at the speed he was used to.

He was just about to give up and let his consciousness drift, when he saw something.

It was a human. He could at least tell that much.

"PLEASE, PLEASE JUST MAKE IT END!"

He tried to scream, but there was no sound. He just understood the intention of the parasite. Kill that human.

No, NO! STOP IT!

He felt relieved when he saw that the human was able to defend himself.

And that's when, his arm was chopped off.

Pain. Excruciating pain was all he could feel. He never knew something could hurt this badly. There was no blood. But that didn't help the situation. In fact, it made Taro feel even more scared.

That's when the human got on top of him, and he was able to feel who that person actually was.

He calmed down. Even his sight became clearer.

So you came back just for me. Thank you.

Peace. That is what he was feeling while looking at the person doing everything in their power to hold back tears while chopping him of.

When everything was done, he felt his head getting clearer and clearer.

For a second, he felt like he was back to the Hiro he presented himself as.

But that didn't last long, his consciousness started fading, and he understood that the time has finally come.

He was still focused on the person just standing on top of him, looking at the sky.

The sunrise that Taro loved so much was nowhere to be seen, but the stars have never looked more beautiful than that night.

"Thank you. In the end, it seems like the name Hiro fits you better."

The words would never reach the person calling themselves Mirchea, but that didn't matter for Taro.

"I just wish you would have told me your real name back then..."

Ah, I wonder what tomorrow holds in store for you. Be careful out there, Mirchea! The reality of this "Harmony" is nothing like we thought.

This was the story of Taro. Or should I say Hiro. A man who, against all odds, kept looking forward until the end.
