Chapter 7:

Chapter 7: The Earth Kingdom

The boy and the unmovable clock

It all started a thousand years ago when the world was at its worst. In the world war, many countries fought to no end.

The Earth Kingdom itself was created as a base of operations against neighboring kingdoms, mainly against the Kingdom of Steel and Fire, both of which proved to be a dangerous duo of kingdoms.

backed against a corner, they decided to breed a new princess in the hopes of avoiding this ongoing war and finally living peacefully.

They had created a weapon capable of simply erasing nations from the tips of its fingers, and thus through that it won the world war and triumphed successfully, and from there on they had been at peace after a major world war almost robbed them of everything.

The current Earth Princess was so powerful that none stood in its way; every other neighboring kingdom merely minded its own business and avoided waging wars for a hundred years, and thus peace was achieved for a while.

The Earth Princess had gotten power beyond belief, and after a hundred years of peace, she showed her monstrous strength, instantly burning through multiple attacks.

The current princess and king stood no chance; at the time, it was a perfect time for them. Soon enough the kingdom started planning their own rise to power, which can rival the Earth kingdom and its princess, who’s constantly gaining power.

Many more years passed by after that, and the Earth Kingdom settled down in their newfound peace yet again. Mostly traders frequent here for the current currency and for selling their own trades.

Several years passed by, and in the current time, the Earth kingdom has still reigned up top without once leaving that seat ever since the previous princess bred the current princess, and thus that was what saved them from their impending doom, and thus they prospered until the end.

…………………………………………………….

After having listened to its history, I couldn’t help but frown at the end. It all went as I predicted: wars are still being instigated, people are losing their lives over meaningless ideals, ideals that at the very end do not mean anything at all, that at their very core simply instigate war and bloodshed. I wish to save them from their doom and offer a solution.

Perhaps that very solution would save him too.

Ariel kept pondering with a very pained expression; the strange man couldn’t find the right time to interject, so he merely coughed, and Ariel looked at him surprised, almost as if he just noticed his very presence.

With a very gentle smile on his face, he said calmly.

‘’The reason I brought you here was due to the princess’s orders she bestowed upon me; apparently she sensed something strange about you, so she took it upon herself to see what’s gotten her intrigued by your very presence itself.’’

Having finally gotten his answer, Ariel had expected as much, judging from his chest itself bearing no marks whatsoever and coming to life just like that, which proved him to be a very suspicious fellow amongst others and thus staying off the princess's and her consorts radar is the optimal solution, which instantly failed.

Ariel, looking worried, made the strange man yet again smile gently and said calmly.

‘’ Our princess is certainly interested in you but I doubt she’ll use you for war purposes. She’s plenty powerful on her own; did the story not specify as such.?

Ariel had expected him to say that yet he still couldn’t dispel the chills from creeping up; he knew full well how dangerous it is to be used for war purposes and thus he couldn’t help but be on guard and nervous around them.

At the very least he wanted to avoid getting in touch whatsoever with anyone at all but alas, it didn’t work out and now he is face to face with the consort themselves.

The consort himself addressed himself before continuing the conversation further as the princess’s consort, Lyeler Farheight.

And that there are at the very least six consorts in every kingdom and that some aren’t as nice or hospitable as the Earth princess herself and her consorts.

Regardless, I should still steel myself and pray I don’t get caught up in any trouble myself. And thus I asked Lyeler for a small request and thus made my way outside.

Towards the many vines and trees stretched upwards, the many buildings were all made of wood and many leaves fluttered alongside the sky.

I stopped for a bit to admire the beauty of nature itself. Many shopkeepers and owners looked at me like I was an exotic creature.

Embarrassed, I quickly made my way to the library to find out more about the history of the world from a thousand years ago.

Lyeler only told the small part of it and I wish to know the many parts of it in order to start my mission and become the savior myself to all these lost souls and so the library may hold all of the answers within the archive of lost history.

As I quickly made my way through the kingdom, I found lots of strangely looking people, mainly animal-looking; some are male and female, though lots of them are female.

I swept a glance and then ignored them and made my way through the asphalt and rocky ground, which somehow felt pleasant to walk on and after almost an hour of searching, I finally found the library and my research onto the past finally started in full gear here.

Inside is even more gorgeous than I had thought.

The walls were aligned well with books that matched the reader's preferred genre of books, going from fantasy to real fiction, tragedy to slice of life and wholesome stories, adventure to realistic depictions of heartbreak and lastly the archive of the past, the very books I wanted to find as I slowly made my way to them without making any loud noises in order to not alert or trouble anyone.

…………………………………………………

A thousand years ago, the world was at its worst during the world war, causing all nations to incite bloodshed and destruction upon each other and ruin any hopes of communication and peace; only glory and ideals were what incited the fire within them to blaze their way to victory using any means possible to their advantage and dominating every opponent ahead of them.

The kingdom of fire and steel especially got the most out of the world war, racking up bodies and towns one after another; their brutality and fiery ideals got them so far that almost all nations tried to plead with them, only to be met with the same fate until the new Earth princess had risen up and retaken the war back from the fire and steel kingdoms as easily as if all the pain and suffering caused by their hands had simply disappeared.

The Earth princess showed no mercy upon the evildoers and simply used everything in her power to erase them from existence; the power of Earth itself had basically decimated all living beings and brought victory.

Almost all nations had surrendered to them except for certain sects of the fire kingdom; some were plotting to poison or catch the princess unawares so that they could rob her of her power and status and possibly her life.

She somehow managed to avoid them all and burn them as punishment for disobeying her and her merciful warnings.

None were pleased to hear how monstrous the princess really is, which is why most prayed to her or simply left her alone as long as peace was upheld between all nations and kingdoms; then war will eventually cease to exist, and none will have to shed blood, sweat, and tears for their fallen comrades.

As easy as it could have been, the Earth princess still was tangled up in the middle of wars; though not as big as that of a world war, still many lives were taken and many people lost their homes and were forced to tread the broken lands of once prosperous towns and kingdoms regardless of their occupations and currency until all kingdoms eventually reached an impasse and were forced to stop warring amongst themselves.

They decided on a truce in order to cultivate and prosper their kingdom and their powers so that they can prepare for the upcoming war and thus, every ten years nations and kingdoms kept on warring until almost half of the continent was erased and yet again sought for a truce and thus the cycle kept on repeating itself, which brought us to this present time with only five years left until this current war is over for another ten years.

…………………………………………….

Only 5 years and finally we’ll be in peace.

I’ll have to survive till then in order to fulfill my mission and in those five years I would be a witness to the absolute monstrosity of this war and how merciless a princess and king truly are.
