Chapter 8:

Chapter 8 Doll

The boy and the unmovable clock

t’s already midnight by the time I headed out from the library. I looked out the setting yellow moon and the shining 37 stars shining upon this world.

Apparently there was a huge war 135,000 years ago and at least a trillion stars fell upon the world, leaving only the currently remaining 37 stars.

For every star that fell, a piece of the world was destroyed and reformed continuously for several years until one day the war was on pause for a truce and only 37 stars remained.

The legends say once all stars have fallen, a dark sun illuminates the entire world and casts a glow of eternal darkness and the world would only be nothing more than a ball of darkness.

Lyeler Farheight was in the princess’s quarters after doing his errand for his princess, tending to her every need without fail, abandoning all simply for her and only her, almost like a doll Leyeler expressed no emotions needed for the fact that he’s a doll fit to serve the princesse’s every need and to accompany her for war-losing comrades over and over for he did not mourn for the lost souls; he merely saluted their bravery for the prosperity of the Earth kingdom, anything for his princess to flourish and perhaps one day be rid of him as she either dies or perhaps finds a different doll to play with.

He did not show contempt or anger; he merely accepted it for that’s his role as a doll fit to serve her every need until his last breath.

Leyeler Farheight shall serve the princess forever and ever.

Walking towards his burrowed house, Ariel yet again couldn’t help but be in awe at the surrounding scenery.

He stops for a moment, looking at the countless tree’s, vines, and the overall surrounding greenery.

This kingdom truly felt liberating and peaceful despite the ongoing war and the need to be in safety and thus he merely stepped along his steps, hoping for a good and peaceful day.

‘’Finally home; he’s gone, huh?'' Ariel finally arrives at his burrowed house. He looks around and Leyeler is nowhere to be found.

After looking around for a bit, he finds a letter addressed to him. He opens it and the following words are:.

Dear Ariel

‘’for the remainder for your journey, I shall relinquish this burrowed house to you as the princess herself declared herself, may peace be upon you.’’

Hmmmmmm Ariel pondered the reason as to why this house is relinquished to him but for the time being, ‘’ guess I’ll make good use of it’’ and with that in mind, Ariel went and slept in his bed on the second floor, his exhaustion catching up to him.

Ariel wakes up to a dream of war and violence—the kind he’s used to already; he looks around emotionless, moving about; it felt oddly realistic—almost as if the earth kingdom itself was nothing more than a more realistic fantasy of a dream He felt a sharp pain in his chest. He fell down in the destroyed and burned-down towns.

This pain felt real He experienced this pain in real time He keeps panting and breathing heavily, almost as if this pain tries to rob him of his life.

He tries to get up but his legs are worn out and just when he’s about to pass out and die, a woman approaches.

Her face was blurry and unclear but he could somehow make the features of a beautiful woman with long brown hair flowing down her back.

Her voice is gentle and soft, with an accent only he could understand.

Ah……Your alive…■■■...I’m glad you are alive... ■■■......It's too bad things turned out like this... ■■■ Really, I’m sorry but it had to turn out like this.

There was no other way for this to have ended peacefully.

You knew this too, didn’t you ■■■ Well, regardless, lets keep going The goddess will soon descend here and it’ll be a pain after we have to bring Ariel here and save the world.

That’s our role since birth, or perhaps since our creation by the hands of the goddesses and gods of this cursed world.

Let's journey forward now; we can’t afford to wait long after since Ariel is coming here soon.

……………………………………………………………………………….

Soon after the dream ended, Ariel woke up in a cold sweat. He looks around and after a while he recognizes the burrowed house and the soft bed he slept in.

He recognizes his dream as a distant memory he forgot about probably about a hundred or so years ago and he remembers his mission very well as a savior to ensure another tragedy doesn’t occur yet again.

After getting bearings and calming down, drinking some cold water in the kitchen downstairs, and after a moment of silence, Ariel looks out the window as the multicolored sun rises, hueing different colors almost like a rainbow, shining with red, blue, green, white, and yellow, silver, and lastly, black, signifying the seven elements that every kingdom harbors.

‘’Guess I’ll hit the library again; I need more information.’’

After making toast with eggs and coffee, Ariel heads out to the library yet again, hoping to find something good.

The air felt fresh and welcoming; the stalls were open and fresh with veggies and meat. The people around them all had a smile in their faces as they went about their day, a stark contrast to the horrifying memory dream Ariel had not too long ago.

He felt relaxed and ready to tackle whatever challenge the day will bring.

Finally after walking to the huge library, he opens the two-handled wooden doors with a bit of difficulty. The library opens up and in front of him was a vast bookshelf and some tables with chairs all made up of wood. He yet again looks in astonishment and in pure awe at it; he just couldn’t help but look in astonishment, even though it’s his second time heading there He looks at the boards up top with it saying

Ariel knew the time needed to read all this would take at least a decade with how many stacks of books there were and thus he decided to only grab the ones he needed, which were the GEOGRAPHICAL BOOK and OTHER WORLDLY CONTRACTS BOOOK.

He sets down in an empty seat with a wide, clean, and empty table, opening the GEOGRAPHICAL BOOK.

Chapter 1: The state of the world

The state of the world is currently governed by a set of roads with all its elements all connecting to kingdoms; the many architectural landscapes all throughout the world are a beautiful work by the goddess, granting access to much of the world's beauty and awareness of the temperature and the winds that rise in high tide and are calm in low tide.

The landscapes also serve as a way to steer clear of the many puzzle mazes used to thwart disillusioned travelers and thieves away in order to ensure safe and prosperous travel merchants with their high profits and demands bringing in exotic edibles all around the world.

Traversing the high seas and the many hidden labyrinths, braving all in order to prosper their business.

Chapter 2: the way of the merchant

A merchant is a traveler who’s willing to sell exotic items from all sources of danger and is professionally trained and capable of braving and surviving the many dangers that come about in getting such exotic items in order to profit and gain a debt from said kings and princesse’s. Giving them leeway to roam around everywhere without a sign of danger is the first rule of a merchant to always assess the danger before approaching it or running away and to always put themselves first before anyone or anything else.

That’s the main rule for any merchant.

Chapter 3: The way of the ocean

The ocean is vast, unforgiving, therapeutic, and yet again dangerous, filled to the brim with dangerous sea monsters and the dangerous high tide waves that can instantly ruin any ship regardless of how well built the ship is and thus prowl during the low tide waves and wind. Is a big rule in traversing the vast and unforgiving ocean.

In order to thwart the sea monsters, one must create bait, whether by fish or by blood; regardless, both are essential in a safe journey through the ocean

Chapter 4: the way of the mountains

The mountains are as unforgiving and therapeutic as the ocean, as they provide a very majestic view of a part of the world yet do not provide any safety whatsoever so the likeness of falling down or being hunted by land monsters alike is highly likely and thus one must be careful in traversing the mountains in the hopes of finding treasure, perhaps for a sense of fulfillment, or perhaps in the journey of finding oneself, do you traverse without hesitation and only the resolve to climb for your life is in your hands?

And thus you must always be careful of your footing and traverse ahead.

Consisting of only 4 chapters, Ariel finally finished reading the GEOGRAPHICAL BOOK. And after getting the bearings of the world through the book, he felt an even greater sense of determination to complete his mission.

He gets up and stretches after sitting in the same position for a while and moves about for a bit.

He walks outside and the multicolored sun is halfway to setting down. Ariel had spent at least a couple of hours reading and didn’t notice the passage of time as he was too focused on reading. There are far fewer people around now compared to when he headed towards the library.

‘’I guess most of them have already headed back home or something looks like there’s still a bit of time left Might as well read a bit.''

Making his mind, he headed back to the library after walking around outside for a bit. He opens the two-handed wooden door with a bit of force and it opens, revealing yet again the two-story library, which is practically shining with how squeaky clean it is.

Ariel heads back to where he previously read his books and opens the OTHER WORLDLY CONTRACTS BOOK.

The first book opens, revealing only 2 chapters and the first chapter states as such.

Chapter 1: The state of the Otherworld contracts

To make a contract, the soul of the user must leave the body in order to ensure the spirit being can possess the user without a problem and thus act out as the user so as to not break a ‘’rule’’ of the world in a different meaning the user simply must die.

…………………………………………………………

………………………………………………………………………….

………………………………………………………………………………………..

‘’Huh? Die? Die? Die? I’m dead? Huh? So I contracted with Ariel and he died?’’ After finishing the first chapter, he instantly starts panicking.

The feeling of dying is scary, even moreso when you have no idea on how you died No wait, I died of drowing or perhaps the cold ice simply took his life Either way, my life ended once and this time I have to ensure it doesn’t happen the second time in order to ensure this hundred-year mission doesn’t go unfulfilled.
