The first bite

A cute boy with blonde hair and a beautiful smile that sits on a park bench right next to her is looking at her with his blue eyes.

“How did I not notice him, was I that distracted!?”

She thinks to herself as she blushes a little bit.

“Hey, my name is Keisuke, can I help you with something?”

He says as he looks at the back of her bike.

“Ummm, I don‘t really know, I‘m looking for someone that ordered a pizza in this park”

Etsumi says as she looks for her phone to check the order.

“Hmmm, whats his name?”

He asks with a slight grin.

“Wait a second let me check, it should be right under Details”

She opens the detail page for the order, then looks at him and says.

“....Keisuke, the name in the order says the pizza is for Keisuke”

The boys grin begins to crack and starts to convert into a wholesome laugh.

“Hahaha, one margarita pizza for me please young lady”

Etsumis face changes from confused for a second to laughing as well.

“Ohhh, why don’t you say it right away haha, wait let me get it for you”

She takes the pizza boxes off of her bike and hands it to the patiently waiting young boy.

“Here you go, the fresh pizza you’ve been waiting for”

Teasing him by holding on to the pizza for a couple of seconds just to let it go and grin back at him.

“Well, it was definitely interesting meeting ya but I have to get going now, gotta bring these babies to the rest of the hungry fellas”

Keisuke looks at her as she’s about to get back on her bike.

“If you want, you can also sit here with me and look at this beautiful waterfall, I would even share this pizza with you”

Before he could even finish the word pizza, Etsumi already sits next to him on the bench ready to eat as much as she can.

“Okay, what are you waiting for, it’s cut already we can eat!”

She says it so quickly as if it’s all she’s been waiting for. The surprised look of the boys face just takes a couple of seconds, he then opens the box laughing.

“You’re so weird, but in a good way, haha”

Keisuke comments, handing her a slice of pizza that drips with cheese and a has a fluffy but crunchy crust.

“Says the right one, Mr I don’t know who’s pizza that could be”

Etsumi replies in a playful way. The way she’s looking at the pizza most men wish a girl would look at them like this. Her first bite with closed eyes… it fills her mouth with a warm feeling, the stringy cheese, the amazing flavor of tomato sauce and fluffy crust tingling her taste buds in a way she just had to let out a squeak and show it with a smile. Keisuke looks at her with big eyes.

“You sure seem to enjoy it, I’ve never seen someone be that excited about pizza, haha”

He says to her about to take his first bite.

“How can you not love pizza its the best food ever made!”

She replies looking at him while stuffing the last piece of food in her mouth.

“Is that why you’re working as a pizza delivery?”

Keisuke asks, noticing how fast she finished her slice.

“Bingo, but also the fact that I can explore the city this way, I moved here a couple of days ago with my cat, so I‘m quite new”

She replies scratching her head while thinking.

“Ohh okay, I get that, thats actually a good idea, I‘m currently doing nothing besides studying nature its so fascinating to me, all these different organisms living together”

Keisuke responds while looking at a couple of monkeys who are chasing each other in the trees.

“Sounds interesting, so thats why you‘re in this park?”

She asks noticing the book that’s lying next to him saying Nature Guide.

“Yes, these parks are just the best to get nature full on and experience a lot of its beauty, but sometimes I just love to listen to the waterfall or tweeting of the birds. Looking at the carps for example gives me such a relaxing feeling”

Keisuke explains to eagerly listening Etsumi.

“Yeah this park alone looks amazing and its pretty calming, do you have a favorite animal?”

Asking him while eating the last bite of her slice.

“Probably, seals they are cute and chubby and yours?”

He responds smiling at the question because he didn’t expected it.

Etsumi laughs while taking another piece of pizza.

“Haha, that’s sooo cute, mines butterflies. I like how they come in different colors and look so beautiful!”

Etsumi says, she’s hard to understand because her mouth is full of pizza but her eyes are filled with joy. Keisuke lets out a loud laugh while looking at the stuffed face of hers.

“You look like a hamster with those big cheeks”

Etsumi blushes and tries to hide her face behind her hands.

“It looks really cute, don’t hide your face”

He adds as he smiles at her.

“Staahhp, you’re making me blush even more, silly!”

She replies with an extremely happy but nervous look on her face.

They both look at the pond in front of them listening to the splashes of the waterfall and noises animals make around them.

“Isn’t that one of the best things in life? Just enjoying the little things and the moment itself. The memories we make seem often so small in the moment, but can be so much more important to us in a later point in life”

Keisuke says while looking up admiring the blue sky.

Etsumi agrees in silence by nodding and thinking about the sentence. Time flies by and Keisuke is about to say something but is suddenly interrupted just before he does as Etsumi remembers something not so unimportant.

“Oh my god!!!”

Etsumi jumps up from the bench with a pale face, scaring Keisuke so much he almost falls off the bank.

“What’s the matter!?”

Keisuke asks surprised by her sudden troubled mind.

“The pizzas! I still have to deliver the pizzas to the rest of the customers!!”

She answers in a worried voice looking at her bike.

“Okay, I really have to go now! Sorry it was so nice meeting you!”

Etsumi says while trying to jump on her bike but missing it the first time. Leaving Keisuke confused with an urge to laugh but ends up not commenting it. Instead he says something else.

“I also really enjoyed it and wanted to ask you if I could get your number, so we could maybe grab a coffee some time”

Keisuke says, but Etsumi is in such a rush she doesn’t even notice him saying it. Etsumi thinks about touching the option for the Sprint Mode again but then remebers the first time she used it. Etsumi quickly changes her mind and hits the Delivery mode. She starts pedaling. The bike starts moving and accelerates.

“What’s your name!!!?”

Keisuke yells in hope of her hearing it this time.

Etsumi turns her head around crying in a funny way almost crashing into a palm tree because of it, but then opens her mouth and screams.

“It’s Etsumiiiii!!!”

Keisuke laughs as he sees how the clumsy girl is leaving the park. He then looks at the pizza box that has Eduardos Pizza written on it with a logo that shows a guy that holds a pizza in one hand and does a chefs kiss with the other.

“Etsumi…what a beautiful name”

He says as he smiles and looks at the shimmering water.
