Chapter 123:
The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter
It's been two months since I got to know Kuze-kun. From then he and I would always meet at the rooftop or at the door of the rooftop during lunch break. I wonder if his reputation is diminishing because of it. I really don't want that to happen. I feel guilty.
As soon as the bell rang, he got up from his seat. "I am going to be going."
"To hang out with Miko-san, isn't it right?" The boy in front of him, hiko, said with a grin. "Hey... tell me, do you like her?"
"Don't say such things." He tried to look confident, but his red face was a hint. "Besides, she is not interested in me anyway."
"You think?"
"Yes. Why would she be interested?"
"I don't know. Maybe because the person that visits him every day for two months is so dense?"
"What do you mean?" Kuze asked.
"Listen here." Hiko looked somewhat annoyed at how dense Kuze really was. "Miko-san is an introverted girl. I have never seen her talk to anyone, and besides, introverts are known for having large personal boundaries, but she lets you in hers. Why do you think that's the case?"
"Thats... because I read books..." Kuze murmured, wanting to deny the fact.
"If thats what you think then you are truly hopeless." Hiko sighed. "I don't want an answer, find the answer and keep it to youself. Did you read books when you met her?"
Before Kuze could say anything, Hiko got up and left the classroom.
"Seriously..." Hiko looked disdain and stretched his arms as he went to the cafeteria. "That guy is so sharp in other subjects but so dull when it comes to romance..."
"The chatter in the cafeteria seemed usually not this loud..." Hiko wondered as he got down. There was a crowd there. "Anyways, it's probably because the cafeteria has sales offer." He closed his eyes and minded his own business.
But his ears didn't stop from hearing the voices of the people.
"Hey, isn't that Miko-san?"
"The one Kuze-kun was hanging out with these couple of days? Yeah... I think thats her."
"But I wonder how someone like her was able to get Kuze... she doesn't seem too..."
"Hm? What are you guys talking about, I wonder?" Hiko went behind them. It was their own classmates who where talking, but it was a common topic in the cafeteria. Kuze didn't really seem interested in romance in the first place, he seemed to concentrate on his football skills so he rejected confessions, but he is now chasing after her. Hiko went to peek at who this Miko girl was.
"Two honey breads please." Miko lifted her hand at the bread at the shelf. She seemed unfazed at the commotion that was going on around her. "Why is this happening..." she wondered to herself.
"I would also like to get two honey buns." A boy approached the cafeteria and stood beside Miko while others were standing behind and watching her actions.
"Kuze is waiting for you in the rooftop." Hiko said to her with a smile on his face.
