Chapter 16

"leo, this time, i will have you tell me what really happened." ken said, as leo just woke up in the infirmary

Leo had just woken up from sleep, with lots of monitoring equipment on him.

"what is all this?" leo said, before he also saw the girls in a similar state, around him. "what is all this?!" he said, alarmed, but was still feeling a bit tired

"wait! Dont be alarmed leo, we are just monitoring all their vitals, just like with you." ken said, a bit afraid

"ok then, if thats what this is." leo said, as he now lowers his guard

"whew." ken and the medical staff was relieved

"anyways, what really happened leo?" ken said, curious

"its quite a long story, but in short, i died and had gone to heaven to be judged. Then they let me come back here, to fight the battle." leo said, as a matter of fact

"well, it aligns with what we have seen, but seriously? Heaven?" ken said, as everybody agrees

"yes, as there was white all over the place, when i woke up there." leo said

"you said you were judged, for what exactly?" the doctor said

"for all that i have done in my life thus far. I mean, i didnt do anything wrong in my life, as far as i know, so im clear in that part." leo said, as they still were bewildered by the events

"ok.. Do you mind also explaining what happened with the girls?" the nurse said

"they just received parts of my power, so it will also take a bit of time before they wake up." leo said, with a smile

"what?! Just what is your power anyways?!" ken said

"also, what just happened to you?" the nurse said, curious, as leo looks at ken

"do we really need to explain everything to civilians?" ken said

"yes. As this may be the future of man. And start first with what project advanced is." leo said

"hahh.. Fine." ken said, reluctantly. "Project advnaced takes a programmed virus into human body, editing the DNA structures and combinations of that human, to initiate or stimulate a forced evolution." ken eplains to the medical staff

"and if you are lucky enough, you might have a random ability with you, as a bonus." leo said, as this astonishes the medical staff

"but there is a catch right?" lica said, as she just woke up

"whoa! You just woke up?" ken said, as all were surprised, except leo

"yes. Its really a strange feeling, that some kind of something is stimulating my entire being." lica said, before the girls suddenly woke up, including yuki

"whats this strange electrfying feeling?" yuki said, as shes feeling some kind of surge within her

"girls, whatever you do, dont just release that power here." leo said, before miku accidentally shot a black laser from her finger, towards the ceiling

"whoa! Make it stop!" miku said, before leo made it stop for now, by controlling the flow of their powers

"whats this power leo? And why do we have it?" nikki said, almost panicing, as ken and the medical staff are all at the side and afraid

"its a rare effect from the drug i took, which lets us awaken or evolve." leo said

"what?! Are you serious?!" yuki said, as even she couldnt believe it

"yes, thats the gist of it." ken said, as he now walks a bit forward

"in any case, project advanced is now in effect, and i have confirmed its effects as well. Whats left is to train the girls and find more volunteers." leo said

"are you serious about this leo? Once we will roll this out to the world, there is no turning back." ken said

"yes, im sure. But we must also warn them of the dangers of this drug, which has a 50% rate of either suffering or a blessing." leo said, seriously

"leo, just what will happen to us? Im scared." nikki said, before leo goes to her

"dont worry nikki, everything will be alright. If you girls will follow me all the way, and be my guide as well, then everything will be ok." leo said, as he was hugging her

"follow? But why am i also--" yuki said, before they immediately heard an explosion outside

"they are back! Got to go to the control room now." ken said, before he walks towards leo. "what are you gonna do now leo?" he added

"we will intercept the enemy." leo said, with a smile

After that, leo and the girls got out of the stronghold..

"are you sure leo? We will attack those kroods?" yuki said

They were now at the forest, where they gathered for a strategy meeting.

"yes. As a form of training as well." leo said, as the girls understood. "but please do be careful and not use too much force." he added

"what do you mean too much force? How will we know that?" yuki said

"you are so doubtful of his words miss yuki. Now that you are one of us, it should be natural to you by now." lica said, as she floats on the air using a platform made of ice

"yeah, leo might have already implanted on how to better use our powers in our subconscious." rena said, as she is now flying from the flames made like boosters

The girls were now each equipped with their respective elements, which they were able to fly using either powers or through a platform.

"thats half right rena. It was embedded to your body the moment you all made contact with me, during my awakening." leo said, before he now flies to the others

"come on! Teach me!" yuki said, being a spoiled brat

"hahh.. If you insist." leo said, as he descends

"what are you--" rena said, before being stopped by lica

"we had our ample times with leo, let her have hers for now." lica said, as the others agree, as leo now reaches the ground

"the trick is to feel your connection with your powers. That way, the power will flow freely and smoothly within you." leo explains

"like this?" yuki said, as she was able to produce some small light powers in her hand, but eventually disappeared. "whats going on? Why doesnt it work?" she said, no matter how hard she tries

"i think i might know the problem." leo said, before facing the girls. "ladies! You can all practice on your own for now, as what you girls need now is just imagination. they will need all the help they can get." he said to the girls

"alright leo." lica said before facing the girls. "lets go."

With that, the girls now went to the battlefield and used their powers. Lica with water, rena with fire, nikki with earth, sheryl with wind, and miku with darkness.

"so, what now?" yuki said, a bit tired of trying

"yuki, you are still a virgin arent you?" leo said, walking towards her

"huh?! Why are you asking that?!" yuki said, nervous

"and you also havent accepted everything about yourself. Your family, your circumstance, everything." leo said, as she now bumped into a tree

"j-just what would you know about me?!" yuki said, now almost crying, as if hitting a nail in what he said

"personally, i dont. But through our connection, i can feel your hesitation in almost everything. Your family and your circumstances, when you just long for approval by your real parents, am i right?" leo said

"w-what if i am?" yuki said, almost breaking down in tears

"you had a life before all this.. You had many friends, or what was called friends anyways, and you were just rejected by the guy you like." leo said, now reaching his hand to her cheek

"so what if i had?! I--" yuki said, now in tears, before she was cut off, with a kiss

"i might not personally deeply know you, but i might be able to give you what you really need." leo said, before he kissed her again

"w-wait! This isnt right! I know you are doing this for whatever purpose, but--" yuki said, pushing him away, only to be cut off

"im not doing this for the war! You want me right?" leo said, seriously

"no! I dont want you! But its my fathers last will--" yuki said, before she got cut off again

"so what?! You are you! No matter what your circumstances are! What you have been through! So dont ever tell me you dont have a future!" leo said

"i know! But this isnt the way! As you said, i was rejected by my long time crush and best friend, but doesnt mean you can just come in as you please!" yuki said, frustrated

"let me be your light, upon the darkness you have been through yuki." leo said, concerned

"like i said, i will only be your wife in name only! Doesnt mean that im desperate!" yuki said

"i know. Which is why i will force my way into your life if i have to." leo said, before he hugged her

"but this isnt right.." yuki said, as she broke into tears

"i will always be there for you, when you need me. And love you, even if you might not. Thats my promise to you, to all of you." leo said, as he tightly hugged her

"why would you make a promise to someone you just met?" yuki said, as they now look at each others eyes

"believe it or not, i have a good eye for people, specially women that i choose." leo said with a smile

"you are so unfair, you know that." yuki said, before they kissed again

"how many does this make now?" leo said, teasingly

"geez, you are such a teaser." yuki said, now smiling

"well, its in my nature." leo said, before he kissed again

With that, leo gave her all the love that she needs. which lets her open up her own heart to him, her new powers, and acceptance of her own self.
