Chapter 324:
En Passant Grandmaster
While Mimoko watched the game between Refik and Wakuta, Okisato had gone a little ways over to get a better view at certain game. The game was between Peru's Ichiko Rojas and Türkiye's Muazzez Başak. There were two reasons Okisato was drawn to this game. The first was Ichiko.
Ichiko Rojas was a Japanese-Peruvian comedian, that Okisato liked to watch. Known by her stage name Ichi-ro, Ichiko's routines often radiated big milf energy, a trait Okisato found attractive, even though he'd never admit it publicly.
The second reason was Muazzez. Not only did she check the bald fetish box for Okisato, but she also carried some mystery about her stemming from the Rasputin incident. Publicly, no one aside from the teammates of those directly effected by Rasputin knew the full details, and even amongst them, Rasputin had covered his tracks carefully with his hypnosis, which seemingly had worked on all but Muazzez.
Okisato didn't know any of this, but he did know Muazzez was one to look out for. It didn't matter how attractive he thought she looked to him, if Muazzez was an enemy, he'd likely be the one that would need to deal with her. Ironically enough, her baldness was what initially put Okisato on guard.
"Muazzez Başak, she just shaved her head before coming to Budapest, and has a host of rumors and controversies surrounding her. Her rating is on the lower side, but she could be an executive board member. Regardless, this match of hers is really something. We're nearly an hour into the round, and only 1 move each has been played. What's going on?" Okisato thought.
The game had begun with Muazzez moving her pawn to e4, and Ichiko responding by moving her pawn to c5. But Muazzez's next move of pawn to f4, didn't come until an hour later, completely bamboozling Ichiko. This caused her to stare for at least 5 minutes before finally moving her pawn to d5.
"I get it, she wanted to form a toilet, but since she's a comedian, she did a whole damn sketch in her head and then some," Muazzez thought as she captured the pawn at d5 with her e-pawn.
Ichiko immediately captured said pawn with her queen, prompting the response of knight c3 from Muazzez, sending her queen to d7. Muazzez then brought her knight out to f3, with Ichiko also choosing to develop her knight by moving it to f6. Next came the aggressive play of bishop to b5, which was naturally thwarted by the only viable move of knight to c6.
Muazzez made another aggressive play in the form of knight to e5, and this time she got a big hit as Ichiko moved her queen to e6, slightly worsening her position. Muazzez once again went after the queen by moving her bishop to c4, and while Ichiko moved her queen to d6, it came at the cost of turning the eval bar almost completely white in Muazzez's favor. Now assuming Muazzez didn't blunder, her only disadvantage was the time difference between her and Ichiko, but that quickly became a non-issue as Muazzez knew what she was doing.
"Check, and that's all she wrote," Muazzez smirked as she captured the pawn at f7 with her bishop, forcing Ichiko's king to d8.
Next came knight b5, another attempt by Muazzez to capture Ichiko's queen, which once again ended in Ichiko moving her queen, this time to b8, and worsening her position, though at this point, she couldn't worsen it any further aside from blundering into mate.
"Ara, ara, I'm really screwed, ain't I. Well, maybe I'll get the last laugh in the end," Ichiko thought as Muazzez moved her pawn to d4.
Ichiko promptly captured said pawn with her c-pawn, resulting in Muazzez capturing said pawn with her knight. But then out came the queen again to g6, but rather than go after it immediately, Muazzez instead moved her bishop to e3. Ichiko captured the knight at e5, but that allowed Muazzez to capture said knight with her f-pawn, once again threatening Ichiko's queen.
"Ara, ara, you sure do like chasing my queen... or more like my queen's skirt. Check!" Ichiko smiled as she moved her queen to b4.
Everyone that had heard the joke cringed.
"Yeah, I heard she was a comedian, but I din't know she'd crack jokes THAT cringe. Let's hope she doesn't get anymore checks, and she becomes the butt of her own joke," Muazzez thought as she moved her pawn to c3.
Muazzez's hope seemed to be inching closer to reality as Ichiko worsened her position once more by moving her knight to d5, completely blundering away the queen she had been trying to protect for so long. And worse, she realized this only after Muazzez captured her queen at b4 with her c-pawn.
At that point, Ichiko cupped her hands around her mouth and began slowly tapping her foot.
"Looks like a resignation's coming. So how many taps before she resigns, chat?" Danny asked as he zoomed the camera in on Ichiko's sneakers.
"ENOUGH OF YOUR FETISH! To all the sponsors and like-minded folks, I apologize for my... colleague's irrational behavior," Nancy growled as she quickly shifted the camera's focus elsewhere, disappointing many watching the live feed, Okisato included.
"Oh well. At least I can kind of see the game from here, but I'm at the wrong angle to see Ichiko tapping her foot. I shouldn't have retreated to the spectator area so soon," Okisato thought.
The game on the other hand continued on, with Ichiko finally deciding to move her pawn to e6 instead of resigning on the spot.
"Guess you fight 'til the end. Respectable," Muazzez thought as she castled king's side.
Even though Ichiko decided to play on, mate was still inevitable for her. But she had made her resolve and moved her bishop to c5.
"And that's another check," Muazzez smirked as she captured the pawn at e6 with her knight.
Ichiko meekly smiled and captured said knight with her bishop, but quickly began frowning after Muazzez captured said bishop with her bishop. "So I'm becoming the butt of the joke after all... Well, guess that's comedy, even though I'm not laughing. Check," she sighed as she captured the bishop at e3 with her bishop.
"Well, at least she didn't crack a cringe joke," Muazzez thought as she moved her king to h1.
Ichiko let out another sigh and moved her bishop to d4, indicating she knew she was about to lose. Muazzez quickly captured said bishop with her queen, but rather than despair, Ichiko put on a smile and moved her king to c7.
"Check... Well, guess it's good you're smiling at least," Muazzez smiled as she moved her rook to f7.
Ichiko happily nodded as she moved her king to b8. And after Muazzez captured the knight at d5 with her queen, Ichiko moved her pawn to h5, and that was it.
"Checkmate. Your joke was cringe," Muazzez smiled as she captured the pawn at b7 with her rook, winning the game.
"Ara, I guess I'll take that as a review of my performance... but I think it's a bit unfair to grade me before the show's over."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
Ichiko simply smiled and pointed at the scoreboard. Even though Muazzez had won, it didn't matter as Peru had now officially won 2.5-1.5.
"Are you kidding me!? When did the girls lose!?"
"While you were all spaced out on move one, idjit," Ichiko chuckled as she strolled away.
She had gotten the last laugh after all.
...
Meanwhile, Mimoko found herself yelping as a pare of feet smushed her cheeks together from behind.
"Oh I'm sorry, are you more into feet if they're clothed in sock or shoe? My bad, let me fix that," Xiu sneered as she released Mimoko from her grasp.
She didn't leave her free for long though as she quickly slid her feet into her sneakers before once again smushing them into Mimoko's face.
"Stop that! Why are you doing this!?"
"Hmm? Don't want me to talk about how my match went? That's poor reconnaissance ya know. Your enemy is willing to lay her psych bare, but you don't wanna hear it?"
Daria glanced over, making sure to keep a smile plastered on her face as she stared Xiu down. "I'll listen, smush her face sexily all the while if you please," she giggled.
"OKAA-CHAN!"
"Seems someone's got the right mentality, Now let's start from when the round first began," Xiu maliciously smirked.
But before she could start, Ragnar suddenly appeared and leaped in front of Mimoko. "No way! I was sitting behind her first! I get to tell of my glory first!"
"Well I was closer, so get back in line."
"I always cut in line! Now listen to the tale of how I led Iceland to victory!"
