Chapter 9:

History of the World: The Fall of the Akatara Dynasty

Crancrse: The Heaven's Vengeance

"The Akatara Dynasty continued to grow, becoming a symbol of the glory of the new world, leading the world with the wisdom and strength inherited from their ancestors. The kingdoms under the Dynasty's rule reached the peak of advancement in all aspects—technology, culture, and social management. Many believed that the Akatara Dynasty would last forever, becoming the unmatched guardian and ruler of the earth."

"However, behind all the grandeur, the ancestor of Akatara himself began to show signs of weakness. The bright light that had been his identity began to dim over time, making many wonder what was really happening. Legends say that his power, which had been passed down to his descendants, was the main reason for his fading condition. Each ability given to his heirs seemed to gradually erode the essence of himself."

"However, for Ancestor of Akatara, this was not something he was unaware of. According to the stories passed down through generations, Akatara knew that his power would wane over time and his body would weaken. Yet, he deliberately chose this path, as if seeking a way to die that he could not naturally reach. He wanted to give all of his life to lay the foundation for the future of humankind, even if it meant sacrificing his own existence."

"During this time, Ancestor of Akatara was rarely seen by humans. The figure who once guided and inspired them now often secluded himself in his mysterious private room. No one was allowed to enter, and his presence slowly became like a faint shadow, as though he was retreating from the world he had helped build. Despite this, his name remained a banner that ignited the spirit of his descendants, a reminder that everything began from the light that was now starting to fade."

"In addition to the story of the arrival of the Akatara ancestors, which has long been a subject of debate, this point in history also holds various versions of the early seeds of the downfall of the Akatara Dynasty. Each side, both Akatara and humans, has a different narrative about how this seemingly eternal civilization began to collapse."

"In the version believed by Akatara, they mention that the downfall of the Akatara Dynasty stemmed from human betrayal. Initially, humans who once viewed the descendants of Akatara with awe and respect slowly began to change. Fear and envy of the extraordinary abilities possessed by the Akatara descendants began to spread among them. At that time, the number of Akatara descendants was only in the hundreds around the world, while humans had grown into the hundreds of thousands."

"Tensions escalated when humans began to see the Akatara descendants as a threat. Fear and resentment drove humans to plan unexpected actions. In an effort to protect themselves, the Akatara descendants tried to avoid large-scale conflicts and sought peaceful solutions. However, the negative traits of humans—which ironically were also inherited by them—became the biggest obstacle."

"At the same time, a sense of superiority began to grow among some Akatara descendants. They saw their power as a reason to look down on humans. Some began to view humans as pests, only worthy of being servants or even exterminated. This outlook worsened the relationship between the two sides, creating a rift that became increasingly difficult to repair. The seeds of the destruction of the Akatara Dynasty were planted, not only by humans but also by the Akatara descendants themselves, who could not control the destructive traits inherited from human blood."

"The war between Akatara Dynasty and humans became a significant event that marked the beginning of the downfall of the Akatara Dynasty. The humans’ realization that the nature of the Akatara, once protectors, had now openly turned oppressive, triggered a rebellion. Resistance movements emerged separately in various parts of the world. Although humans had the advantage in numbers, the Akatara descendants excelled in strength. One member of the clan could incapacitate 5 to 10 humans at once."

"In the historical records that are believed to be true, this war lasted for 100 days—a war that was clearly one-sided. The human resistance often met with failure rather than success. Most of them surrendered or fled to a place even more dangerous, known as the Outer World. However, in their flight, humans discovered something unexpected—a huge reinforcement that would change the balance of the war."

"In this world, there are three layers: Inner World, Middle World, and Outer World. Each has distinct characteristics and different laws when entering them."

"The Inner World, located at the center of the world, is the most mysterious layers. It is believed to be the hiding place of Cora, a cluster of islands that has never been touched by humans or Akatara descendants. Its borders are guarded by various natural and mystical disturbances, making it nearly impossible to enter. Legends say that Cora is there, observing the world without direct intervention."

“Meanwhile, the Middle World is the layer of the world that lies between the other two layers, and is the primary home for humans and Akatara descendants. This layer is considered the safest and most comfortable to inhabit, with an ecosystem that supports life. The Middle World became the center of civilization, where the kingdoms of the Akatara Dynasty grew and flourished, and where the great conflict between humans and Akatara Dynasty took place."

"And lastly, the Outer World is the outermost layer of the world, filled with unimaginable dangers. This region is inhabited by gigantic, wild creatures, making it an extremely inhospitable place for life forms not from there. Anyone who steps into the Outer World faces a slim chance of returning alive. For humans, the Outer World is a natural prison that separates them from true freedom, as if imprisoning humans to live in the Middle World forever."

"The humans who fled to the Outer World were those who led from behind the scenes, faceless figures whose identities remained a secret. Their identities were concealed, not only for their own protection but also so that Akatara descendants who were captured could not exploit their abilities to peer into their minds. The vast and powerful territories of the Akatara Dynasty had yet to touch the outermost layers of this world. With fear shadowing every step, humans continued to flee until they reached a place that was foreign, wild, and full of danger—the other side of the world they had never known."

"It was there, at the border between the harsh and inhospitable Middle World and Outer World, that they encountered the guardian creatures who called themselves Ajina Dala."

"Ajina Dala is not a single entity but rather two different races living side by side. The Ajina, with bodies resembling humans, possess physical traits of animals, such as fur, claws, scales, or tails, depending on the species that resonates with them. Their abilities reflect the instincts and strength of fauna, such as keen sharp night vision to breathing underwater. They tend to maintain a human-like form, though they can fully transform into animals. They are capable of communicating and forming bonds with the wildlife in the wild."

"On the other hand, Dala do not possess striking physical forms. They appear like ordinary humans, unlike the Ajina. They are not plant-like, but rather the plants themselves have embedded within them, radiating through their skin or woven into their blood. Like the Ajina, they are also able to communicate with flora and form close bonds with any plants found in the wild."

"Ajina and Dala are almost similar to the Akatara Clan, each possessing different abilities depending on their family. The Ajina have families based on the type of fauna in the world, but they name themselves differently. I will mention the major family names: Khaga = Birds, Gentala = Reptiles, Wyangga = Amphibians, Matsya = Fish, Bhramara = Insects, Mandra = Mollusca, and there are actually many more. Ajina is actually the name for the Mammals family; humans have misunderstood and have too closely associated the name 'Ajina' with other families. However, only the Mammals use this name as their family name. Although all of these Fauna-capable races are widely known as Ajina."

"For the Dala, they only have 3 families, namely Terna from herbaceous plants, Kusa from shrubs, and Naga from trees

These names are still in use even today.

"Both of these races have special marks on their bodies that appear when their abilities are activated. They also have distinct features when it comes to their eyes. The Ajina have brownish patterns that suggest their fauna powers, while the Dala have greenish patterns that symbolize their close relationship with the flora life."

"Humans, exhausted and almost losing hope, saw a new ray of hope in these creatures. However, the Ajina Dala did not welcome them with open arms. These guardians are the protectors of the Outer World, and they will not allow anyone to cross their borders without a strong reason."

"In the early encounters between humans and the Ajina Dala, the language barrier became a wall that hindered communication. Tension arose, but amidst the confusion, a young and intelligent man, who would later become the first ancestor of human heroes, found a way to bridge the gap between them. With paper and ink, he drew simple pictures, telling each event with lines that conveyed more than just words. He realized, through their gestures, that the Ajina Dala understood reason and logic, not just instinct or body language."

"This young man became the first guide in understanding this new world, and through his efforts, he was like the Human version of the Akatara Ancestor. Diligently, he taught the human language to the Ajina Dala, and slowly, a bond between them was formed."

"The Ajina Dala then offered shelter for the humans fleeing from the Akatara Clan. Eventually, humans helped advance the civilization of the Ajina Dala, which once relied solely on what nature provided."

"The deep gratitude from the Ajina Dala bore strong resolve. They vowed to help humans, not only in building a new life, but also to free them from the fear that lurked—the fear of the Akatara Dynasty that still hunted them. A bond built on mutual understanding and respect, which would later become the key to resistance against the oppressive power."

"As a mere reminder, the part from the initial encounter between Humans and the Ajina Dala to the attack on that fateful night, all of this is a story I’ve taken from the Human perspective."

"The first meeting between humans and the Ajina Dala was only the beginning of a long tale that gave birth to new hope. From the human point of view, they were the saviors who emerged in the deepest despair, offering protection when there was nowhere else to run."

"The Ajina Dala hid the humans in a secret place, unreachable by the eyes of the Akatara, far from the arrogance of the dynasty that, day by day, felt invincible. For three centuries, they kept the secret of the humans' existence, helping to rebuild the population that had almost perished, and with patience, they meticulously laid the plans to ultimately overthrow the power of Akatara. They waited for the right moment when the arrogance and carelessness of the dynasty would become the weapons that would reverse the tides."

"At the height of its downfall, the Akatara Dynasty had become a symbol of boundless arrogance. They lived in luxury, oppressing humans as part of their daily routine, proclaiming themselves as descendants of the gods. A religion that worshiped the first ancestor of Akatara had grown rapidly, reinforcing their claim to divinity and instilling a deep fear in the remaining humans."

"When Ajina Dala first appeared before the Akatara, it was the day of the sudden downfall of the Akatara dynasty. A long wait of three centuries ended with an explosion that shook the very foundations of the Akatara Dynasty, bringing them from the peak of glory to an inevitable and sudden destruction."

"On the 1000th year celebration, a grand feast was held, gathering all the descendants of Akatara in the capital city of the kingdom called Chacotyee, which today is the territory of the Tlonka tribes.”"

"The night enveloped the city, but the darkness could not take control. Giant torches lit up every corner of the square, their flames dancing on the surface of the white limestone that formed the stepped pyramid at the center of the city. At its peak, the priests stood gracefully, their silhouettes moving slowly as they raised their hands toward the sacred statue resembling the Ancestor of Akatara, chanting prayers that pierced through the crowd."

"The square beneath them was filled with various activities; long tables piled with corn, tropical fruits, and large vessels filled with thick chocolate drinks. The sound of drums echoed in the air, their rhythm guiding brightly feathered dancers who moved gracefully in the middle of the field. Children ran with flower weavings in their hands, while the priests at the top of the pyramid continued their ritual. This was a grand celebration, a feast designed to glorify themselves in front of the humans they viewed as mere servants."

"However, at the feast, the representatives from the Akatara Indigo and Akatara Magenta clans were absent. Both had long been ostracized among the other Akatara clans."

"The Akatara Indigo clan refused requests from other clans to peer into the Ancestor Akatara's memories of the time before the great flood that ravaged the earth. They believed that such an action was too risky, as it could trigger great danger to their clan if it disturbed the long-resting peace of the First Ancestor, who had long retired from heavy responsibilities."

"Meanwhile, the Akatara Magenta clan had been exiled ever since the other Akatara clans imposed the heavy role of executioners upon them—tasked with taking the lives of humans who were deemed to have rebelled. This burden led them to choose an isolated life, shunned by the other clans."

"Back to the feast. Those who held the title of 'Ruler' ascended the pyramid with graceful steps, standing in a circle at its peak with arrogance. Below them, the 'Masters' lined up around the pyramid, forming a circle of honor. Yet, unbeknownst to them, danger was slowly approaching, hidden beneath the glitter of luxury."

"Amid the festive crowd, the descendants of Akatara could never have imagined that the earth itself would conspire to bring them down."

"Underneath the capital city of Chacotyee, a secret underground chamber had long been constructed by the Dala. Their expertise in blending in with plants allowed them to evade the strict surveillance of the Akatara. Furthermore, with no Akatara clan capable of manipulating Spirits & Minds, they were left undetected."

"The Dala grew massive tree trunks, hollowed out the interiors, and transformed them into tunnels, linking strategic points they had marked."

"Not far from one of these points, the Ajina prepared in their animal forms, ready to strike at any moment. Meanwhile, the humans they protected were hidden with care by the Dala, as if blending seamlessly with the plants in the forest. In this way, they were ready to launch a large-scale guerrilla movement."

"The capital, hidden deep within the forest, coupled with a night that could not entirely overpower the darkness, became the grim final stage for the Arrogance of the Akatara Dynasty. Suddenly, from the bowels of the earth, giant tree branches rose and pierced the grand pyramid at the heart of the city. Those on top of the pyramid and surrounding it were cast down with the ruins, sinking into the earth."

"The Rulers, who were usually endowed with god-like abilities, were unable to resist their fate. The drunken state from the celebration caused them to lose control, and in an instant, they were buried like ordinary humans, stripped of any privileges. However, the destruction did not only affect the pyramid; the entire city square was ensnared in chaos."

"The giant trees surrounding the area thrust their enormous roots to the surface, bringing ruin. Some were pulled into the earth, crushed by the pressure, others were entangled by roots and split in two, while some were impaled by root fibers, like meat skewered on a stick."

"Amidst the havoc, the Akatara power inheritance ritual suddenly took place. But before the ritual could be completed, the would-be Rulers were killed one by one in the chaos, turning the process into an endless relay. What was meant to transfer Akatara’s power instead turned into a catastrophe."

"During the inheritance ritual, members of the Akatara clan would lose their abilities momentarily until the ceremony was complete. But that night, the chaos disrupted everything. The ritual was never finished, leaving the Akatara descendants like ordinary humans—without power, without hope—just witnesses to their own destruction."

"Humans and the Ajina pushed through the chaos, skillfully thwarting the inheritance ritual. In their weakened state, the Akatara were powerless against their dominance. At the same time, the royal palaces of Akatara across the world, abandoned by their kings, began to collapse. The absence of the rulers and the loss of the Akatara’s power signaled the separate guerrilla forces to launch a massive invasion."

"Poison and Venom stained the history of the conquest of the Akatara kingdoms. Those who had once suffered now returned to the frontlines with a courage that shook the earth, helping to turn the tide of war into victory. Those who were once lost in slavery rose as heroes, bringing an end to the tyranny of Akatara."

"However, not everything went according to plan. As if swallowed by the earth, the Indigo Akatara Clan, masters of the Mind, suddenly vanished without a trace, along with the Akatara Ancestors they had protected for centuries. All that remained was an empty palace. On the other hand, the Violet Akatara Clan was the only clan that remained unconquered. They could have turned the victory of humans and their allies into defeat, but they chose not to seize that opportunity. Their stance seemed to declare, without a doubt, that the Akatara Dynasty truly deserved its punishment."

"In the midst of the escalating chaos, a human representative with extraordinary courage proposed a peace treaty to the Violet Clan. In this treaty, both parties agreed not to interfere with each other. However, this peace lasted only 500 years. It all ended when someone named Naraka dared to take something that should not have been taken, igniting a new chapter in the long-simmering conflict."

"But before we move further into the future, let me first tell you what happened to the other clans. Undoubtedly, that day was a dark one in our history. There were three clans considered as very dangerous threats, clans that had already been sentenced to extinction. These clans were the Red and Turquoise Akatara, who wielded power over Force and Time, and lastly, the Orange Akatara Clan, masters of Matter, who were relentlessly hunted for their deceptions that had tricked Humans & their allies, and even the other Akatara Clans."

"Don’t be surprised when I say this, but Sakti, the Red Akatara Clan should have been the first clan to be destroyed by Humans. However, in the future, close to the time when the peace treaty between Humans and the Violet Clan was about to be annulled, an 11-year-old girl suddenly appeared. But I will save that story for the end."

"Initially, my own clan, the Turquoise Akatara, was also slated for extermination. However, since their ruler at that time was a one-year-old girl, Humans and their allies decided to spare her life. The information they received about the disappearance of the Akatara Ancestors along with the Indigo Clan led them to believe that this young girl could serve as a guarantee of their security. In those days, teenagers, adults, and elders who held the title of Ruler continued to be killed, until the title was finally passed on to the weak infant, allowing them to fully control that power."

"Other Akatara clans, such as Yellow, Green, Blue, and Magenta, also suffered equally tragic fates. The threat from the Indigo Akatara Clan, which vanished along with the Akatara Ancestors, forced the Humans to preserve the existence of the Akatara clans. Despite this, Humans struggled to continually suppress the remaining Akatara population, attempting to reduce the threat of rebellion from them as much as possible."

"And here is where history was rewritten by the victors."

"In the history of our people, it is said that humans treated us like livestock. Do you know how they suppressed our population? And do you know where the elemental abilities like fire, air, and water that humans possess come from?"

"It is because of the sinful acts humans committed against the remnants of the Akatara descendants. The women were the ones who suffered the most in this never-ending nightmare."

"Humans understood that although they needed the Akatara, they also had to minimize the threat posed by our existence. That is why they intended to rewrite history. In the beginning, when the entire Akatara lineage was captured, our brothers and sisters numbered in the hundreds. But over time, humans suppressed our numbers through genocide. The genocide they committed is the greatest sin in human history."

"The men were killed outright, while some male infants were spared. However, a more horrifying fate befell the women. They were treated cruelly, forced to bear the illegitimate seed of humans, and after their children were born, they were killed in unspeakable ways. Humans used every means to prevent these women from committing suicide, making their suffering even longer and more unforgivable. All of this was done to strip the Akatara of their identity, claiming what we possessed as the property of humanity."

"The change of Ruler was a stroke of luck that came once in ten chances, a hope that might free them from this cruelty. The Orange Akatara Clan, the most secretive of all the clans, who never trusted anyone. The paranoia that characterized them became their fortune. Their true ruler never attended parties; only their alter ego did. Their real identity was never known by anyone—not by other clans, let alone by humans and their allies. The true ruler of the Orange Akatara Clan remained a mystery, until the clan reemerged in the future as a terror threatening humanity and its allies."

"However, their emergence came long after the dark times that befell the Akatara Clans."

"The other Akatara clans, who had not prepared for all possibilities, ultimately failed to resist. Their bodies had been paralyzed from the start by poison and venom, deadly weapons of Ajina Dala."

"Although humans gained many things, they did not fully acquire what they sought. Of the babies born from the wombs of women from the five captured Akatara clans, only one clan was able to pass on their special powers to their children, while the babies born from women of other clans were simply born as ordinary humans. The only clan to do so was the Magenta Clan, masters of the Element."

"Finally, the Magenta Clan became the reason why humans acquired Elemental powers. This clan suffered more than the others, forced to continue bearing unwanted children. It is said that the women of the Magenta Clan were forced to give birth to ten children throughout their lives. With such a large number of children, the human descendants with Akatara Magenta blood began to multiply and spread across the earth. Ironically, future human descendants did not know the origin of the powers they possessed. To this day, the reason why only this Clan was able to pass down their powers to humans remains unanswered."

"During that time, humans finally discovered a new fact: inter-clan marriages among the Akatara could not produce effective results. If Akatara from different clans married, only one clan’s power would be inherited by the child. This would remain for the lifetime of that pair. Afterward, they would become infertile."

"Humans were disappointed and enraged by the outcome, knowing that only the Magenta Clan could pass down Akatara powers. They then began a practice that is still carried out to this day."

"Their numbers had to remain in the single digits, and at the beginning of history, they started this practice by sparing one pair of male and female babies from each clan after killing dozens of surviving Akatara. The babies would later be married when they came of age. After that, the parents of these babies would be kept alive in separate prisons until their children were mature enough to have offspring. The parents were kept alive merely as reserves, nothing more than tools to ensure the continuation of their lineage. The imprisoned Akatara clans lived as lifelong captives, isolated from the outside world and unaware of what a true life was. They only knew the coldness of the underground prison walls, tightly sealed. The abuse they suffered became something that no longer considered any norms."

"Not all babies survived to adolescence. It was no surprise that incestuous relationships between twins or biological parents were forced upon them. Humans began to understand that babies born from incestuous relationships would not be born normally. This was considered a foolproof method by humans, because although the babies were born with imperfections, their powers were still inherited. Nevertheless, to prevent total deformities, humans limited incest to every third generation."

"This suffering lasted for 350 years and became a very dark chapter in Akatara history, until the Orange Akatara Clan finally resurfaced and ended the nightmare for the Akatara descendants."

"So what about Cora? Why has such a great figure not yet appeared and helped the descendants of his kin?"

"That will be a topic I discuss later, after I tell you how humans managed to rewrite history."
