Chapter 135:
The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter
Miko and Ayane came with four cans in their hands, all of them sweating at the surface due to the high humidity.
"You bought some for us, eh?" Kuze's voice had a lot more enthusiasm than his face.
"Of course I would!" Miko quarrelled back.
Kanako stood and sipped his cold drink from his can, watching those two love birds quarrel. Ayane came in and joined him, looking around the atmosphere. The breeze was cool and the sunlight was warm and bright. Ayane stood too close to Kanako before she could even realise, and her body was slightly touching his.
"I can't help but ask-" She looked at him, who was sipping from his can. "But how do you know Kuze? He seems to be in a different school."
"I think the very reason we are in different schools made us know each other."
Miko and Kuze stopped their quarrel to listen to their conversation.
"I am curious about that too!" Miko said in excitement.
"Frankly said, our school were rivals in football during middle school, which led to us having friendly matches almost every month. Plus, we also had matches during official tournaments if we were lucky." Kuze explained.
"You were in the football club, Kanako-kun?" Ayane just unlocked another part of Kanako's life. This was the first time she understood how little she knew about him, though he knew a lot about her. This made her saddened.
"Yes, I was, though I was never really that great at it."
"Listen here, nobody is going to buy your stupid little lie, so you can stop."
"But I am telling the truth? You played wayy better than me. You are the "National Champion" after all."
"Did you not really stop with that nickname after all these years?"
"You forced me to though."
"Then, are you in any clubs right now?"
"The photography club. You must still be in the football club, right?"
"No wonder I didn't see you in any tournaments. Why did you stop though?"
"No real reason. I looked at football as a sport, not a passion. So I can't improve as much as you can. I have passion for photography."
"A photographer sounds cool! But still, you not playing football is a waste of talent. You can still do both things at once."
"Nope. Too much of a hassle."
"That's also true." Kuze smiled. "Then show us your club room. I want to see what it's like and what are your club making for the cultural festival."
Kanako looked at Ayane. She had already finished drinking her can of drink and threw the can in the bin. She nodded in agreement. Kanako went to a nearby bin and threw his empty can and headed with the others, them following his lead. None of them had the idea where the photography club room was, by the looks of it.
