Chapter 2:

Is this a dream?

Paradox

I awoke. A gust of a gentle breeze blew against my face, I thought this scene could have only happened in movies.

My head was at ease, it felt light without anything to worry about whatsoever. It felt as if I was on something squishy.

Wait... Squishy?

I slowly opened my eyes and there it was, I was on the thighs of Lily. I got up quickly as I could and went down to apologize.

"Morning”, that was all she said to me.

I had a lot of questions. What happened? What was that crystal? Why did I saw my parents in it? Where are we?

But I don’t think it's time to discuss that in the state I'm in at the moment. I got up slowly and looked around. My head was still hurting me but I think I was in some kind of small forest, there was also a desert in the distance.

I was hungry, and Lily looked the same as well so I took the job upon myself to find food. Luckily that wasn't too hard. Legit right in front of us were fruits?

Is that fruit?...

The so-called fruit was spikey with a rough exterior and it was red, not the good red, demonic red. Lily told me to stoop down and she used me as a stool to pick the fruit.

She sat down under a tree and started to eat it. I wanted to vomit; the insides of the fruit were green.

I sat next to her, “Hey, Lily what is this place?”

With the green juice from the fruit in her mouth she replied with, “We are in the country of, Xayama” and then she continued slurping the green juice.

Xayama? Is this a joke... I was in Tokyo a moment ago how did I end up here? It made no sense at all. To be honest nothing is making sense since I met her. First there was that physics defying alleyway and then that crystal. I wouldn't be surprise if I see God at this point.

Anyways, I took the fruit to eat and surprisingly it tasted alright. That could have been my hunger speaking there but it tasted like honey dipped in pepper.

“So, what are we going to do from here on out?” I asked because I really want to know, I wasn’t even going to question what is Xayama.

She shrugged.

Then I decided for myself I wanted to look for other people a town at least. Not knowing where we supposed to go, I can already tell this is going to be a pain.

To begin with, the only thing we had on ourselves were clothes, nothing else, no water, no food, we only had that spikey fruit.

Thus, we started to venture outwards to find people.

We travelled for eight days and eight nights, it was a living hell. When we found a river to drink there was a seven feet snake that emerged from it, then trying to pick fruits again, emerged giant bees and in caves to stay the night, were imp looking monsters.

We reached a desert. There was a village in the distance.

I hoped that everything would be alright and not some man-eating lizard civilization. We walked towards the village cautiously.

There were humans, actual humans, the question now is were they good or evil?

The village looked so old but there were a lot of people nonetheless. As we were walking through the town everyone had this scared look on their face towards us.

But why?...

Then a boy, around my age, came towards us. He was dressed in ragged clothes with golden brown hair.

“Yo, may I ask where you two came from?”.

I just replied with “The town over”.

He smirked for a quick second, “Oh, you must be the survivors, I heard the town over got over-run by goblins and they pillaged everything”.

I was so confused but it was our only way out of this situation so I kept lying, “Yeah, it was a hell hole and we barely escaped, we left through a secret tunnel”

Lily just sighed and facepalmed.

“Oh, well I have a lie to tell you, just as good as yours, there wasn't a goblin attack or anything of that sort. You got tricked and for lying to me or until you tell me who you two really are, you are going to stay in our ‘prison’ for a bit” with a smile on his face.
