Chapter 7:
I'M DUKE DAUGHTER BUT I GOT LOST ON OTHERWORLD
❈ HASEGAWA REN’S ROOM ❈
After finishing breakfast, Hasegawa Ren returned to his room and began getting ready to go out with Angelica.
“I’ll take a shower first,” Ren said to Angelica with a small smile.
As he stood under the warm water, Ren found his thoughts drifting back to the invitation he had given Angelica the day before.
“No, no, this isn’t a date,” he muttered, shaking his head. “Yeah, it’s not a date. We’re just going out to buy some things Angelica-san needs. That’s all.”
Even so, he couldn’t deny the nervous flutter in his chest.
“But… Angelica-san is really beautiful. I only just realised it now…” Ren whispered to himself, his face heating up as he acknowledged the fact.
After showering, Ren moved to his wardrobe, contemplating what to wear. This was the first time he was going out with a woman like this.
“Uhh…” He ran his fingers through his clothes, hesitating over his choices.
“Hah, I have a secret weapon!” Ren muttered before quickly grabbing his phone and searching for outfit ideas suitable for an occasion like this.
After scrolling for a while, he found an image that looked just right. To his relief, he had something similar in his wardrobe.
“Ah, this looks good. And it seems I have something like this,” Ren murmured, feeling a little more confident as he pulled out the outfit.
Carefully, he put it on, making sure everything looked neat and well-coordinated. As he adjusted his collar, he couldn’t help but feel a small rush of excitement at the thought of spending time with Angelica.
Once he was ready, Ren left his room with steady steps.
As he descended the stairs, his heart pounded slightly in anticipation, waiting for Angelica to finish getting ready.
“Hmm, I’ll go start the car while I wait,” he thought to himself, making his way to the garage.
Inside, rows of polished cars gleamed under the lights. Ren took a moment to admire them before deciding on his choice for the day.
“Alright, I’ll take my R-34,” he said with a satisfied grin, selecting his favourite car from the collection.
Grabbing the keys, he swiftly unlocked the door and slipped inside. With practiced ease, he inserted the key into the ignition and started the engine.
The powerful roar of the car echoed through the garage, a deep, satisfying sound that never failed to thrill him. As the engine hummed smoothly, Ren felt a familiar sense of excitement—driving always gave him a feeling of freedom.
He adjusted his seat, checked the dashboard, and ensured everything was in perfect condition before they set off.
“Hmm, everything’s good!” Ren said to himself.
Meanwhile, outside the garage, Angelica had finished getting ready and was waiting for Ren.
A few moments later, Ren drove out of the garage, a smile forming on his lips as he spotted Angelica standing there. His steps were steady and full of enthusiasm as he approached her.
Pulling up beside her, he stepped out with practiced ease, intending to open the door for her.
Angelica, who had never seen a car before, stared at it with wide eyes, fascinated by its appearance.
“Ren-san, are we supposed to ride this… hunk of metal?” she asked, pointing at the car with a puzzled expression.
Ren chuckled at her innocence. “Yeah, this is a car. It’s a common mode of transport on Earth,” he explained with a smile.
Angelica’s brows furrowed slightly. “But… how does it move?” she asked, curiosity evident in her voice.
Ren smiled, enjoying the moment. “It has an engine inside that makes it run. The engine uses fuel, like petrol or electricity, to power the car and make it move,” he explained patiently.
Angelica listened attentively, absorbing the new information. Though she still found it a bit confusing, she was fascinated by the concept.
“So, this thing can take us far away quickly and comfortably?” she asked, her eyes lighting up with intrigue.
Ren nodded. “That’s right. It’s one of the great conveniences of modern technology,” he said with a hint of pride.
Angelica’s expression turned thoughtful. “This is so different from my world… We still use horses to travel,” she murmured, marveling at the advancement of Earth’s technology.
Ren chuckled. “Yeah, Earth has come a long way.”
But Angelica’s curiosity wasn’t satisfied just yet. “What kind of engine does your car have, Ren-san?” she asked, her bright blue eyes gleaming with interest.
Ren’s grin widened. He was genuinely pleased by her enthusiasm.
“That’s a great question, Angelica-san!” he said, eager to explain. Without hesitation, he moved to the front of the car and popped the hood, revealing the engine inside his R-34.
“This is a 2JZ-GTE engine,” he said proudly, his voice filled with admiration. Angelica leaned in, studying the mechanical components as Ren pointed to different parts.
“This engine is a masterpiece of modern engineering,” Ren continued, his eyes gleaming with passion. “It’s not just a machine—it’s a creation built with precision, skill, and a deep love for performance.”
“The 2JZ-GTE is known for its incredible durability,” he added, his tone full of respect. “It’s famous among car enthusiasts for its ability to handle high power and speed.”
“This engine works on the principle of internal combustion,” he explained, motioning towards key components. “All these parts work together to generate power and make the car move.”
Angelica listened intently, utterly captivated by the complexity of the machine before her. She wanted to learn more, to understand how such an intricate system functioned so seamlessly.
Just as Ren was passionately explaining, his butler, Masato, stepped out of the house and walked toward them with calm, measured steps.
“This is an incredibly strong and reliable engine. Many sports car enthusiasts admire it for its outstanding performance,” Ren continued, completely engrossed in his explanation.
“Wow, that’s amazing!” Angelica exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with fascination.
But their conversation was abruptly interrupted by a discreet cough.
“Ahem.”
Masato cleared his throat again, politely drawing Ren’s attention to the time.
“It’s getting late, Ren-sama,” Masato reminded him gently.
Ren blinked, suddenly realising how carried away he had gotten. A quick glance at his watch confirmed it—time had flown by.
“Ah, sorry! I got a little too excited talking about my car!” Ren admitted with a sheepish laugh before turning to Angelica. “Alright then, Angelica-san… shall we go?”
Angelica giggled. “I don’t mind at all. I found it really interesting. But yes, let’s go,” she agreed, smiling brightly as she stepped into the car.
“Thanks, Masato-san!” Ren whispered to his butler, clasping his hands together in a small gesture of appreciation.
Masato responded with a warm smile. “Not at all, Ren-sama. I hope you both enjoy your time together,” he said sincerely.
With that, Ren hopped into the car, started the engine, and they set off to explore the city.
