CHAPTER - 08

On the way to the city centre, Angelica sat beside Ren, her eyes wide with amazement as she took in the new sights around her. Towering buildings, bustling highways, and the lively city atmosphere left her completely captivated.

"Ren-san, this is incredible!" Angelica exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement, a radiant smile lighting up her face.

Ren grinned at the enthusiasm radiating from Angelica. "I'm glad you're enjoying the journey, Angelica-san," he said warmly, a smile spreading across his lips.

Keeping his eyes on the road, Ren then glanced at Angelica. "Shall we pick up the speed a little?" he asked playfully, a hint of challenge in his tone.

Angelica, exhilarated by the ride so far, turned to Ren with sparkling eyes. "YES!" she replied eagerly, her bright smile shining like the stars in the night sky.

Ren smirked, pleased with her response. "Alright then!" he declared with enthusiasm.

Without hesitation, Ren stepped on the accelerator, revving up his R-34 with excitement. The distinct roar of the 2JZ engine filled the air like music to their ears.

The car sped through the city streets, navigating smoothly and skillfully through the traffic. Angelica felt an incredible rush as they picked up speed, the cool breeze brushing against her face, making her feel truly alive.

Ren handled the car with precision, ensuring their safety despite the high speed. He was thrilled to be sharing this experience with Angelica, enjoying the sense of speed and freedom together.

"How are you feeling, Angelica-san?" Ren asked with a wide grin as the car continued to race through the city.

Angelica turned to him, her face glowing with joy. "This is amazing, Ren-san! I feel so alive!" she responded with uncontainable excitement.

Ren chuckled, satisfied with her reaction. "I'm happy to hear that, Angelica-san," he said warmly, enjoying the moment they were sharing.

They continued their high-speed adventure, making the most of every thrilling second.

❈ IN THE CITY CENTRE ❈

After about an hour and a half, they finally arrived at the bustling city centre. Skyscrapers towered around them, creating a breathtaking view.

"Woah~ Ren-san, the buildings here are even taller than the ones we saw earlier!" Angelica exclaimed excitedly, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at the towering structures before her.

Ren smiled at her amazement. "Yes, this is the city centre. There are many tall buildings and interesting places to visit here," he explained warmly.

Angelica looked around curiously, absorbing every detail of this world that was so different from her own. The lively atmosphere and the bustling streets filled her with excitement, making her eager to explore even further.

"Alright, I'll park here," Ren said as he pulled into a parking garage beside the road. With careful precision, he parked his R-34 in an available spot.

Once the car came to a stop and the engine was turned off, Ren and Angelica stepped out, filled with anticipation. The fresh city air and the vibrant surroundings only heightened their enthusiasm for the adventure ahead.

Standing beside Angelica, Ren took in the towering buildings around them. "Let's enjoy our time here," he said with a friendly smile, inviting her to explore the city together.

Angelica nodded eagerly, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "I'm really looking forward to this, Ren-san! Everything here is so new to me," she said, full of wonder.

Angelica was fascinated by everything she saw, from the modern architecture to the bustling streets filled with lively people. It felt as if she had stepped into a whole new world.

Ren glanced at his phone and realised it was already lunchtime. "Before we go shopping, Angelica-san, shall we grab something to eat?" he asked, showing his consideration.

"Alright," Angelica agreed with a small smile, feeling her hunger after the long journey.

With Angelica’s agreement, Ren began searching for a suitable café or restaurant on his phone. Meanwhile, Angelica looked around, her attention caught by something intriguing.

Her eyes landed on a small shop emitting a mouthwatering aroma. The enticing scent tickled her senses, making her stomach let out a small rumble.

"Ren-san, can we try the food from that place?" Angelica asked eagerly, her eyes shining with curiosity.

Ren hesitated slightly at her request. Internally, he was a bit surprised by her choice. A ramen shop wasn’t the typical place most women would choose for lunch. Usually, they had various reasons to avoid it—one of the most common being the fear of gaining weight. But then again, Angelica was from another world… maybe her preferences were different?

[Huh? Seriously? A ramen shop? Most women wouldn’t go there willingly. They usually have all sorts of reasons, like worrying about calories. But… maybe this is different? Since she’s from another world?] Ren mused to himself, trying to understand Angelica’s taste.

"Alright, let’s go there," Ren said with a friendly smile. "Coincidentally, I’ve been craving ramen too."

Together, they made their way to the ramen shop Angelica had chosen. As they stepped inside, the rich, savoury aroma of freshly cooked ramen filled the air, making their stomachs grumble even more in anticipation.

They took their seats and quickly placed their orders. While waiting for their food, they chatted and laughed, enjoying their time together in the cosy little ramen shop.

As they waited, Ren pulled out his phone and asked, "Angelica-san, may I take a picture of you?"

Angelica blinked in confusion. "Hmm?" She looked at Ren with a puzzled expression.

Realising that the concept of photography might not exist in her world, Ren quickly took a picture of her without waiting for an answer. The screen displayed a perfectly captured image of Angelica.

"This is called a photo, Angelica-san. It’s a way to capture memories in the form of pictures," Ren explained, showing her the image on his phone.

Angelica was astonished to see her own face on the screen. She zoomed in, inspecting the details closely. Her expression was filled with fascination as she marvelled at the technology of Ren’s world.

"Oh, this is amazing, Ren-san! In my world, we don’t have anything like this. How does it work?" she asked enthusiastically.

Ren smiled at her curiosity. "This is my phone’s camera. It captures images and saves them inside the device. We can look at them anytime we want," he explained while closing the camera app.

Angelica nodded, still processing the concept. "I’ve never seen anything like this before, Ren-san. Your world’s technology is truly incredible."

"So, shall I take a few more photos of you, Angelica-san?" Ren asked.

"Yes! Please do!" she replied eagerly.

When their bowls of ramen finally arrived, Angelica and Ren inhaled the enticing aroma of the freshly served dish. Their eyes gleamed with excitement as they prepared to take their first bite.

As soon as they tasted the ramen, both of them were delighted by their choice. The rich flavour and perfectly chewy noodles left them completely satisfied. It was so delicious that they made a mental note to return to the shop another time.

"Alright, time for the main event!" Ren declared.

"YAAA!!" Angelica cheered. And with that, they set off for the shopping district.
